i had 2 fillings done on tuesday, when I went in I told the dentist that my jaw hurt. He gave me extra numbing stuff and did the fillings. Now 2 days later, the pain is so bad I can't sleep and even eating soup is excrusiating. I have tried hot and cold compresses and alturnating tylanol and motrin, and even ambasol and oragel wears off after 10 minutes, nothing I do seems to work. I'm waiting for my dentist to call me back, but what else can I do until then.

ANGIE,
W/O ACTUALLY KNOWING WHAT THE DENTIST DID THE FIRST TIME OR THE SECOND TIME IT'S NOT POSSIBLE TO SPECULATE ON WHAT IS WRONG.
YOU CAN TAKE 4 (FOUR) 200mg IBUPROFEN (ADVIL) EVERY 4-6 hrs UNTIL YOU SEE THE DENTIST AGAIN.
FYI IT'S NOT UNSAL TO FEEL SOME DISCOMFORT AFTER A FILLING, BUT NEVER TO THE EXTENT THAT YOU ARE. SEE HIM A.S.A.P.

Take tylenol/advil. Go to local drugstore and get Abesol or Orajel to numb u temporarly until u see him again. Warm salt water also helps.

you might have infection somewhere or a wisdom tooth coming in under another tooth=he should have done x-rays to see what was going on before even doing fillings
