asking a guy to formal?

there is this guy and i have only met him a few times and i want to ask him to my hs formal...should i ask him and how should i ask him?

Don't be afraid to ask him about the matter.Just be calm, when you have the chance to talk to him, do it.Is not the end of the world,talk to someone.Be confident and just go ahead.Be you,no fancy stuff.I think you will make it.Good luck.
