Typically Mormons will not engage in premarital sex (or any or act that is not chaste) or drinking alcohol, or coffee and do not smoke. I know this, because I am Mormon. We believe in Christ and in a living prophet who is called of God. Like other religions, there are Mormons who do not always follow what they believe or simply have given in in a moment of weakness. I know I am far from perfect. My advice to you is to talk to him about what he believes in doing and not doing and to encourage him to act how he believes. I do not know what you are looking for in the relationship, but if it fits, maybe ask him if he plans on getting married in the temple. Due to the nature of the covenants that are made with God in the temple, only worthy members of Christ's church who follow his teachings are allowed to enter it and partake of the ordinances inside. We believe that a marriage sealed in the temple is for time and all eternity; that is why it is why we take it so seriously to get married in there. We do not feel that we are better than anyone, we simply want the blessings the Lord has promised us. I hope this helps, if you have any questions or confusion you can email me.

[edit] Latter Day Saint vs. Mormon
Latter Day Saints are sometimes also referred to as Mormons, a nickname derived from the title of The Book of Mormon. However, the size and prominence of the LDS Church have led to the terms Mormon and Mormonism being generally understood to apply only to the LDS Church and its members, that is, to the Latter-day Saints. The desire of the LDS Church to disassociate itself from polygamous denominations which use the term Mormon has led to the LDS Church urging journalists to use the terms Latter-day Saint and Mormon only in reference to the LDS Church and its members.[1] Accordingly, the Associated Press Stylebook now states the following concerning the use of the term Mormon: “The term Mormon is not properly applied to the other churches that resulted from the split after Joseph Smith’s death.”

Mormon is basically a commonly known name given to a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which is a Christian denomination. I am LDS (Mormon) myself, and I've been taught to believe what I want to believe. I think most people from the LDS church are this way...respectable of other's beliefs, I mean.
There's a LOT of misleading information out there about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, so I would suggest that if you want to know more about it, go straight to the source. Try lds.org, or mormon.org. Or ask the guy you like yourself.
LDS do have preferred guidelines for healthy living, called the Word of Wisdom. This basically means that addictive drinks/substances..we are taught to stay away from them. Try visiting www.mormon.org for other basic beliefs and the Church's opinions on social issues.

Ask the guy you like. I'm Mormon or in other words a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Yeah, he can't do certain things. Ask him, he'll be glad to answer your questions.

I'm a Mormon, aka a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. There are definitely certain things he can and cannot do, but you can still have a relationship with him, but be sure to respect his beliefs and standards.
Visit mormon.org or lds.org for more information on his religion.

Well, the official name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mormon is a nickname that we got during the persecution of our church after it was founded.
If you would like info, ask him!! What better way to start a conversation with someone you like? ;) He can tell you all about what he believes and it will give you a reason to talk to him more.
I'm LDS also, so if you want to IM me, feel free. Or send me an email. Either way...

They are usually against other religions because the other religious person cannot go to the temple with them. You are allowed to date non-Mormons as long as you can get them to convert.

The only religion he would be against is the church of Satan. As for what he can or can't do, I would say he wouldn't take drugs or drink or smoke, nor would he be into doing the horizontal tango. Other than that, I don't know.

Mormon = Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They accept the Book of Mormon in addition to the Bible as their scripture. They also believe some of the tribes of Israel came to North America and Jesus visited them there, too. Those people were cursed for wickedness by God and turned into the Native Americans.
They aren't supposed to use nicotine or caffiene (or at least, last time I checked).
