iso is like a fake CD. Once you download the program, you must install it and open it. Restart the computer as it asks, then right click the new red lightning bolt in your task bar. Choose mount image and pick the iso file you need. Voila! You now have an imaginery DVD rom drive that never existed! Go to my computer and double click on the fake CD rom to open the folder.

ISO files are an image of a CD. You normally use a CD writing package to burn them onto a CD using the "Burn from ISO/Image" option and then use them normally. You can inspect the contents with something like "Isobuster"

My personal favorite is MagicISO, from http://www.magiciso.com/download.htm or if you just need the contents of the file, use WinRAR from http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm and click on the language you want, such as English. If you are wondering what an iso file is, it is like a saved CD project when you burn a CD and contains many files into one.

iso files are generally disc images i.e. burn to disc and then you have the software. You can't open them straight off as they are operating software. You need an external source in general to operate these, another drive or disc etc.

a dvd player......
iso? or do you mean vob? iso is what links to the actual movie files (vob), its sort of an index. if you change the vob extension to mpg or mpeg...any video editor/player should be able to open it.
