The easiest way to make them from scratch, and they are oh........so..........good.
Buy a package of Nestle semi-sweet chocolate chips, buy all the ingredients listed in the recipe on the package and bake according to package directions. As you get better and have some success, you can start tweaking and experimenting.

Certainly there are the premade rolls of dough, but you can also find mixes in your baking dept. at your grocer. And, you can also find frozen cookies, already cooked, that you simply defrost.

I agree with Nana, unless you want to bake cookies from scratch. If that's the case, look up your favorite recipe on the net. It will guide beginners through each step. Could you please make my fav....peanut butter? haha
