The color of ones skin is irrelevant. There is only one Race. The Human Race. Humanity is very homogenized. There really is no such thing as 'white'. There is only shades of 'brown'. From very light brown to the point of white (but not quite) to very dark brown that appears to the human eye to be black.

Skin color is only a matter of pigment that evolved to help the body to absorb sunshine so it could create as much vitamin D as possible.

So there is no 'almost white' curse any more than there is such as things as Voodoo. Belief in it makes it real to a person, that doesn't make it reality.

Reject it and you'll have taken your power back.

No - the grass is never greener on the other side. Meaning we always think it's greener - but in reality it's not. You think being white puts you on the picnic side of the fence? Nope. It's not that spectacular over here either. It's all an illusion.

I don't think there would be anything wrong with "being almost white." I spend soooo much time trying to get myself darker. I'm sure you have a really beautiful skin color.
I think you should love yourself just the way you are--others love you just the way you are.
