I was using Microsoft Word and saved a file as "chapter 2 notes" on a jump drive and I had the file open and wasn't using it then I closed the Word window and it asked if I wanted to save the changes and i said yes and then it said something was wrong with the file and it changed the name to "~WRL1840.tmp". Now when I tried to open the file it wouldn't work. A bunch of weird characters came up with like boxes and stuff. Is there anyway I can change it back? What happened?

That file name is a temporary name used to save the file while you're working on it. You could try right clicking on the name and see if it gives you the option "OPEN WITH...) and try the various programs it gives you.

Have you looked for the proper file name on all your drives? It may be there. The other option is to close Word and then re-start it. Your file may come up as a "recovered document". Good luck.
