you would end up gaining weight becaus when you undereat all you lose is water weight and muscle NOT fat and slow down your metabolism. you gain all and more back as soon as start eating normal (eventually you will)
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

That's starvation basically. The metabolism would slow down, the person would have little to no energy, and it would be foolish. Also, as soon as the person began eating more "normally" again, the body would hoard ever calorie and thus any weight lost would return (and then some).

NEVER take your calories below 1200 a day without a doctor's advice.

Eat right, moderate your calorie intake, and exercise regularly. THAT is the proper way to lose weight.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

you'd lose weight, but it would be from muscle and not fat storage. You would also be exhausted, nauseated, your metabolism would backfire and it would cause more harm than do any good. If you're looking to lose weight quickly, just eating really healthy for 2 weeks and exercising (even just walking for 30 minutes a day!) will really help. Also, drink lots of water, and eat lean proteins like chicken because they fill you up fast and take more calories to digest. Slim fast shakes are great, too. But please, don't starve yourself!

Be careful...taking in so few calories could in fact make your body react in a way that it actually holds onto the fat reserves, because it "gets scared", and doesn't know when it will be getting replacement nutrients. This is a very unhealthy way to try to lose weight.

very few pounds. their body would go into a famine mode and would start slowing itself down as rapidly as possible to try to wait out the famine period.

Then, on the ninth day everything you ate would be immediately stored as fat reserves in case another famine period was coming up.

it is for this very reason that starvation dieting doesn't work.

...not many, because your body would start eating itself. And you'd lose all muscle, no fat. Learn how to eat healthy. You'd be killing yourself.
