I'm 18, i'm 5'5. I have had some girls an inch or two taller than me fancy me. How much of a factor is height in attraction between sexes or are other things much more important?

I don't think it really matters. Wouldn't you rather be with someone who liked you for what was on the inside?

It really depends on the girl. For the most part, I think girls do prefer a guy who is at least as tall as them. The previous poster actually had it wrong. The average height of a male in the US is close to 5'10 and the average height of a female is 5'4. However, there are a decent amount of girls who are around 5ft. Personality is also important. So, yes, you might be at a slight disadvantage, but you should be okay as long as you can attract them with other positive characteristics.
You might also grow an inch or two. Some guys grow until about 21.

The average height of a man in the USA is 5'10". At 18 you will still grow until about age 21, however probably not much more than you already are. You will grow probably one more inch...maybe two but I doubt that.
It's very hard to get dates with girls taller than you, it's will be tought just to get them with girls the same size. The average height of a girl in the USA is 5'6". It's just a fact of life, girls like guys taller than themselves. The only thing more important is money...

Being a female, I would definately want someone taller than me. However, there are so many girls out there that are shorter than 5'5. Really, I don't see a concern here. You'll find the right mate when the time is right! Try not to worry so much bud!

height is more of an preference and girls would usually like to go out with a guy that is taller than them but if you have a good sense of humor and is really sweet person and isn't a fake i'm sure height would be no obstacle in your way

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but woman are usually more attracted to men that are taller than them. I don't have the numbers to back it up; however, women tend to be more attracted to men 5'10" or taller. But if you don't have an issue with it and find woman that don't either then do your thing.

ummm you may be kinda short, cus im a 14 yr girl and im 5'4" and still gettin taller, but girls are into short guys. and thats definitely a fact, so dont worry at all about your height. cus you can probably get more girls then a taller guy could.

Kenny Chesney is only 5'6" and Im not sure of Michael J. Fox's height but he was a hottie in the 80's.
I think if the guy is hot...he's hot...no matter what his height.

nothing.. as long as u are taller than the girl and even then its the personality that really counts.... and what kinda REAL girl judges a guy by his height??? w/e, my dad is 5'3 and my mom has no prob with that!!! be happy u aint a midget...

well im about 6'1 and i dont have that problem, but a friend of mine liked this guy but he was 5'4 so she just saw him as a younger brother, i think your best bet is to go with girls shorter than you, and if you do go out with taller chicks tell them you worked out alot as a kid and it stunted your growth
