i had my tonsils out when i was six. when i was 28, i had a realy bad throat infection. turns out, my left tonsil had grown back and gotten infected. the doctor said i must have had a little bit left when they removed it.

organs can and do regenerate. My right kidney was damaged in my child hood and ceased to function, so I spent much of my early adulthood under the impression I had only one kidney. Then I developed a kidney stone on that side, and the testing showed that not only had the kidney regenerated, it was fully functional.

I too had tonsils removed in childhood at age 5. When I was pregnant with my 3rd child the doctor diagnosed me with strep throat and tonsilitis. I told him he could night be right and he said tonsils can regenerate.

It is not unusual for tonsils to grow back especially if it was not totally removed

do you know that if most of your liver is damage they just cut off the bad part and it will grow back fully on it own ...yes organs grow back but not all!
