there is no "definitive" information at this point, however the lack of omega fatty acids are suspect to contribute to ADHD, ADD, depression, bi-polar disorder, and many other mental health issues. there are many recent studies that are showing a definite link between this nutritional deficiency and many mental health problems

omega 3 fatty acids are used to construct neurotransmitters and receivers. when there is a lack of them in the diet the body must use substandard materials for construction. the human body can not manufacture omega fatty acids from other dietary fats

Omega 3 EFAs will help with focus and mood, but there's no causal connection to ADHD.
