I have heard of people doing that before. I see nothing wrong with it as long as it is what you and your fiance want.
It is YOUR wedding, not anyone elses.
Good Luck!

Ok Hun. You know what you want. This is YOUR wedding. You have the right to have any wedding that you choose. My family doesn't really celebrate Halloween due to our religion, but if this is what you are happy with, then go for it. Who says that you have to have a traditional wedding with a white gown? There is no rule book on that! You should have your BIG DAY the way you want it. Nevermind what people say. They should just be happy for you.
Are you thinking of going completely Halloween with it or just black? If you are going all out with it, why not have your guests come dressed in costume. That would put an interesting spin on things! And for the reception, you could have like a typical Halloween party. Just be sure to make this day special for you and your spouse and make it a day you will both remember for the rest of your lives. THIS IS YOUR DAY! Congratulations and Good Luck.....

If I could go back and do mine over again, I would either have a Christmas wedding or my favorite holiday Halloween! I think it would be awesome. But don't let the bridemaids wear black, a purple or red. Your dress still should stand out whether it's black or not!
The parents are freaking aren't they. Tell them it's cheaper than a traditional wedding would be, maybe that would keep them quiet! lol If you aren't marrying this Halloween, after this Halloween is over go to the sales, pick up the lights and decorations up to 75% off. You could make a haul, and save a bundle of money!
My family goes a little nuts for Halloween, we decorate with all kinds of props and lights. For my birthday one year, my husband built me 2 life size coffins. If both of are serious about wanting a Halloween wedding, then have one. It's a once in a lifetime event and it should be want you both want. This is suppose to be your most happiest day in your life so far, and if you choose this theme..then make the most of it!
God bless us all..................

My boyfriend once went to a Halloween wedding. The bride didn't wear black but she did have some sort of wings attached to her dress and the groom was wearing a Victorian style outfit with a tophat and stuff. The guests could wear costumes but some didn't. It's up to you really. A Halloween wedding isn't my style, but some people love the holiday and would like an easy anniversary date to remember. If that day or the halloween spirit is important to you and your boyfriend, go for it. Make sure you discuss it with your families first, at least so they know what to expect. Some Christian families might be offended. I'm not saying you should change your plans for them, but it would be nice if you gave them a heads-up. Good luck on your marriage!

Not at all. My firend had a halloween wedding, it was alot of fun. Just dont make it costume dress up and you will be fine.
As for the black, if people would walk into your wedding and be like "Now THIS is John and Jane" then I think you are safe. If this is something that you are just doing on a whim, I probably would advise against it. Plus it could be neat if everyone is in black for you to be the lone person in white or any color for that matter (now a days a bride can wear any color she wants), but if you arent one of those girls who wears black all the time (like a gothic type) then I wouldnt suggest a black dress. But it could be neat if everyone wears black except you. Or even if just your bridal party is all in black except you, even your parents and people who would be in your photos, that could be cool.
Good luck with your decision!

That is so cool went to one last year. They even had cut the eyes out of the plastic pumkins and had candles inside. And web stuff all over the place. And spiders on the wedding cake. (plastic) and a hand coming out of the top of it. The reception hall was done as a haunted house.. what a good time. Even the older people had a good time. Go for it.

While the bottom line is that it's your wedding, and you can do what you want, consider what it is you really want to have:
a wedding, or a Halloween costume party. A wedding is one event, and Halloween is another. To me, combining them, makes a wedding less important, and elevates Halloween to the level of a wedding.
This is the one time in your life to wear a white wedding dress. Do you really want to forfeit it ?

There's nothing wrong with it at all. But keep in mind that your anniversary will always be on Halloween. So if you ever have kids, you will be spending every anniversary for several years taking them trick-or-treating. If that sounds fine to you, by all means go for it! My husband and I actually considered getting married on Halloween because it happened to fall on a Saturday that year, but when we considered having our anniversary for that day for the rest of our lives, we opted to go with the weekend before instead.

Wrong no.
My sister was married on Halloween.
Friend of mine was also married on Halloween, the wedding/reception was a costume party. It was great fun. It was the second time around for both of them, so there wasn't any pressure to do something traditional. They just wanted to make it official and have fun w/family and friends in the process.
Nothing like having a justice of the peace dressed like the pope.......

It sounds interesting and I say go for it if you're sure it's what you want. You have to think about the future, are you going to be proud to show off those wedding pictures or embarrassed. Just remember that most only get married once and you want to be proud of that day.

nothing is wrong about having whatever type of wedding you want. but honestly, I think you will regret it. maybe you should have a regular wedding and save the halloween theme for something else......like Halloween.
