The best way to ensure that everything goes smoothly at the U.S. consulate is to have a competent American immigration attorney present during the interview. Your presence wouldn't hurt, either. Generally speaking, however, the U.S. consulate is highly unlikely to alert Canadian authorities to her situation, although they (meaning the U.S. consulate) will want to know about it...

I would definitely expect complications...

the US embassy does and will want to know the immigration status of an application in that particular country (canada in your case)...

just check the application.... there must be a line asking about the status... if you lie about the status, you will make things only worse...

unfortunately, I don't have advice how to fix your problem... however, I would get in touch with an immigration lawyer to figure out what could be done...

Hell no illegal aliens can't get a social security card. You have no respect for American laws, your husband should be deport. you need find a better job or someone to help co-sponsor the paperwork to get your husband to re-enter legally!!!
