if you are talking the Delaware rive between NJ and PA, the shad run should be starting up soon, which also triggers a striper run. in turn, the shad are great to live line for big stripers.

Stripers should be in the Delaware River, right now. Best time, however, is in the middle of May. If you want to catch a 30 pound plus bass, best time is in May in the Delaware. You could use Menhaden (Bunker) or Shad cut into chucks and used as bait.

I'd just wait til one washed up on shore for some odd reason & pick it up and take home throw it on the pan & cook it LOL
