Yesterday, 182 civilians were killed in one day in Iraq by madmen.
Since the US led war, they have continuously been killed by crazy people everday.
6 times more people died in Iraq yesterday than in V. Tech. Not that the people dying in V. Tech was not sad, but why does it get more attention thatn 182 PEOPLE killed in Iraq?
By the way, I'm not conservative or lib. Just answer the question

The problem is that Americans separate themselves from what is really happening in Iraq.. They also consider themselves superior to anyone else for that matter.. Unfortunately, Iraqi blood has become extremely cheap..
Death is never a good thing. Does not matter where it happened.. that's the way I look at things.

Here is the answer that you need. The Iraqs that died are living in a war zone. Do you think that the fighting over there is in the dereserts or hill sides? Its in the streets do to the facts the folks we are hunting have taken it there. The folks that where shot in VA where students. Not in a war zone. Hypocritical? I do not think so. I feel that you are just a hateful little person that has to blame someone if not everyone for the things you can not change. People die every day in third world countries where are your tears for them?

we care but its old news by now. There is a war over there and death is to be expected. We need to get out of there..
Those ppl have been fighting each other for decades and we cannot stop it...
We do expect killing in Iraq but we do not expect some evil person to mow down 32 ppl at a college

Actually it was over 200 like 230 something. The Iraqi's are killing themselves. It's so sad but it's apples and oranges. Iraq is in a civil war whether people admit it or not. But both groups are innocent people.
* Is it our fault or Saddam's? He played games with the inspectors so with that and our faulty information, we went to war. Now instead of the Iraqi's pulling together like we Americans would...they are killing innocent people in marketplaces. Apples and Oranges

We are Americans so we are upset when we see Americans killed. I'm sure there are a lot of people in Iraq crying today.
Do you think they (Iraqis) cared when 32 people were murdered at V Tech?
Are you sad about the people killed in Somalia the past few days? No. But I bet there are sad people in Somalia.
Dry your eyes and get back to your pipe.

In my opinion it's because Americans do not view the lives of other people in other countries as precious as American lives.(bigotry) Also Americans are used to living in a relatively terror free environment. Any horrific event is magnified because we do not live in a "war" environment.
Why do you think Bush keeps saying "we fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here." It's ok if Iraqi lives and infrastructure is destroyed but God forbid Americans should experience the horrors of war.
BTW: this has nothing to do with the Americans that are there fighting..they are doing their duty and honorably even if the war isn't honorable. We accept their death too. I think what Americans really fear is loss of a sense of security at home.

It's easy to trot out the old hypocrisy horse, isn't it?
Let's try it.
Suppose you are more upset that a friend of yours passed away then you are about the massacre at Virginia Tech.
By your own logic, are you not also a hypocrit?

The troops aren't Hipocritical! They die every day to try and stop this. The liberal press, liberal politicians, liberal college cowards, liberal is the key word which translates to anti-war, which translates to more troops and Iraq KIA, which translates to louder anti-war cowards! We give more press to Anna Nicolle Smith than we do to KIA's in Iraq!
