Reading Revelations 21-22 leads me to believe eternity is spent gazing at the face of God in a city where there is no sun and no moon and no night...ever.

So there are no parties, no trips to DisneyWorld, no pets, no gardening, no walking through a forest and listening to the thunder, rain or the wind, no night and no stars to gaze at...

There are no lovers, no love-making, no new babies to teach or delight in their accomplishments...

There are no challenges to overcome, no new frontiers to explore, nothing new to learn...

Just gazing...and gazing...and gazing at the face of God...for ever...and ever...and ever...for all of Eternity...

And according to Revelations God will -never- get bored of this.

Now maybe I'm missing some Chapter and Verse that says Heaven is a luau. So if you know of any chapter and verse that says something different to what I've just described above, tell me.

If not, tell me why you want to spend forever gazing at the face of God.

It's like the ultimate celebrity worship, imagine if Victoria Beckham or Paris Hilton was God and you'd have to stare at their gormless faces for ever in a frozen void of never ending boredom...

There is an inheritance of faith we come into fully when with Christ after physical death. Its like Christ will share all the wealth He has with us, as adopted brothers so to speak.

1 Peter 1:4-5
Romans 8:16-25
Romans 8:29-30

We also will come to share in the glory of God.

The life in the Holy Spirit now can include experiencing the love, joy and peace of God in our spirits. That is just a foretaste of the marvellous life quality there will be for us.

Details of what we will actually do elude me, they are not mapped out. But it will be a lot better than what we have here, because all the frustration will be removed. Sex is an intense physical pleasure, but there will be different and doubtless better pleasures to bejewel our lives in heaven/new Earth.

I have heard a number of visions by christians who have been to heaven. They normally are disappointed to come back here, because its so good there.
Philippians 1:23 - Paul has same sentiment

We are unable to fully serve God in this life due to sin but in Heaven "every curse will no longer be" (Revelation 22:3). We will not be under the curse of sin any longer so everything we do will be worship in Heaven. We will never be motivated by anything other than our love for God. Everything we do will be out of our love for God, untainted by our sin nature.

So what will we do? My favorite thing is learn. "For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor?" (Romans 11:34) "in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Colossians 2:3). God is the "the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity" (Isaiah 57:15). God is bigger than forever and it will take eternity "to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height, and to know the love of Christ" (Ephesians 3:18-19). We will never stop learning.

God's Word says we won't have to be in His paradise alone. "I shall fully know even as I also am fully known" (1 Corinthians 13:12). We will not only know our friends and family we will "fully know" them. In other words, there is no need for secrets in Heaven. There is nothing to be ashamed of. There is nothing to hide. We will have eternity to interact with "a great multitude, which no man could number, out of all nations and kindreds and people and tongues" (Revelation 7:9). No wonder Heaven will be a place of infinite learning. Just getting to know everyone will take eternity!

Any further speculations about what we shall do in God's eternal park, a.k.a. Heaven, will be far surpassed when "the King shall say to those on His right hand, Come, blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world" (Matthew 25:34).

There is an excellent book that will answer your questions much better than I could, and the author uses Scripture to back up his ideas. I always had a hard time imagining what heaven would be like--this book helped me to see what we know for sure will be there, and also some possibilites, according to the Bible. It's called "Heaven" by author Randy Alcorn. Hope you'll check it out.

I really hope that you get there yourself and find out, meanwhile it remains beyond our imagination as to what it is like, Jesus answered the same question like this,` No ear has heard no eye has seen nor has it entered into the heart of man, what God has prepared for those who love Him`.
