The Iraq War, to me, was the removal of Saddam from power in Iraq. The Iraq War was making sure the Iraqi government would not supply WMD's to any terrorist group.

The Iraq War was won back in 2003. What we have in Iraq now is a battle in the Global War on terror, not the "Iraq War."

We have terrorists and sectarian terrorists killing each other far more than they are killing Americans.

We are there to help the Iraqi government take a firm grip on its power and provide security for its own people. After all, we removed the dictator who kept them in check with murder and intimidation, and now his minority is not happy.

We owe the Iraqis that much.

Reid is way out of line to say we have lost the Iraq War. He has no idea what he is talking about, and does nothing but encourage the terrorists.

Whatever it is, dig deep...because we will be there for a long long time.
It would appear the Militant Malita's, if not control the goverment have extreme influence. I get tired of seeing Sadr(not sure of name or actual title) with so much power when those are the factions that are supposed to be disolved. The U.S needs permission to go into Sadr City from the Iraqi goverment to hold him in check.
How long do we(U.S) have to play this "Shell Game" with terrorist-insurgents-al queida....whoever they are.
Is it not time for the Iraqi goverment to Cowboy Up?
After the usual arguments then the grand daddy shows up, we can't let Iran, Syria control the oil. O.K, lets call it what it is. How come we never here of the oil, isn't it suppose to be paying for this war, conflict, freedom etc....isn't it suppose to be used to rebuild Iraq and yet much of the infrustructure is screwed.
I'm a proud veteran, who gets called anti-American, liberal garbage, you name it because I want the truth, because I know B.S when I see it. I'd give suggestions, a plan but I don't have the real facts. Mr. Bush reads the same speech every single time he speaks. If bombs, terrorist are coming from Iran and Syria why not seal the borders which should have been done in the first place....oohh I forgot we don't have enough troops. The most basic of all war strageties...seal your perimeter! At the very very least the Iranian boarder!
Those people who call me a liberal "Enabling The Enemy" have got to ask themselves these same questions...I just can't believe they don't!
There are one million plus Iraqi refugees in Jordan and Syria who are not welcome in those countries...it doesn't seem to me it would take long before some develope an insurgent/terrorist mentality because of their situation.
All the while Osama Bin Laden is sitting back licking his chops!
Call me what you will but forgive me for using the brain God gave me. We or I for one am beyond whether this conflict is right or wrong...we are there. We need to WIN...it is purely a political endeavor now...unless borders are sealed and entire citys are swept. Everyday I hear my Marines and the soldiers being killed by roadside bombs etc. I have to keep fighting back the question "Did they really need to die?"
I don't hate Mr. Bush, Republicans, Neo-Cons, Liberals, Conspiracy Theorist, etc...I'll ask a question before I call someone a name, what I hate is the spin and the lies before the truth regardless of who it comes from!

People call it the Iraq war because they have been brainwashed by the mass media. It is actually the war on terrorism which is taking place all over the world.

The U.S. is currently actively military engaged with terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq, and soon to be with Iran.

I often wondered about the Semitics of the word war. This is just a police action to help another country get a free govt on it's solid footings. A war is WW1-WW2-Spanish American. The last police actions, Korea, Viet Nam, Irag, Afghan are small police actions in comparison to war! War is what you will see when the Ragheads succeed in getting the bomb! We will count in millions, not 1,000's!!

it is the same war, it is ingenuous to claim otherwise. the removal of saddam was reason number 5 or 6, wasn't it?

The iraq war is the american invasion of iraq, murder and torture of the population, in order to control their oil reserves. It feeds terrorism, rather than preventing it.

Like any other imperialist invader, the us will continue to have to battle an angry native population until they leave. The iraq war was lost the day it began.

Maybe it's because we have a military in Iraq both killing and dieing. Some people confuse that with war. Good luck with your irrelevant semantic crusade.

The leader may have been illegally removed but his supporters are still fighting. That is why the war is not and never will be won.
