I wrote some hand written statements for a waiver to be granted or denied, for not mentioning a misdemeanor charge(theft under $300) from 1998, at MEPS when I swore in. I leave for basic on June 26. I have been waiting for a month to know the response from my recruiters CO, as to whether my waiver will be granted, and if i am still leaving for basic. Finally he calls me, and says."Antonio they kicked back ur statement, because there are a few things they want you to take out of ur statement, so u will have to rewrite ur statement"...So i will stop by later to do so, but what does this mean?? They never explain anything. Will my waiver be denied or granted?

They are unhappy with the caliber of wording so it was kicked back to you for corrections and resubmission

More than likely, they are a little unsure about how you worded something. The military is very particular about how things are worded (most likely for legal reasons).

Putting "I stole something" rather than "I was convicted of a misdemeanor charge" can make a lot of difference.

Most likely your waiver will be granted but the recruiter will make sure that you have things worded exactly as they want it before it's submitted.

They explained perfectly. "Kicked back" is slang for "sent back." They sent it back because (quoted from your question) "there are a few things they want you to take out of ur statement, so u will have to rewrite ur statement." That means they want you to take some things out of it and send it back so they can process it and have it accepted.

They want you to modify the waiver so that they can grant you the waiver. As it stands right now they cannot approve it.

I think he means: "we want you, but I can't change your statements, you have to do it yourself." stand bye, They'll give another chance to issue an honest and complete statement. Don't leave anything out this time. Good luck and good sailing.

They want to grant it, so they are going to help you revise your statement so that they can grant it.

I'd say it depends on how you re-write your statement. THe decision hasn't been made yet. Welcome to the military world. Be prepared NEVER to know where and when you're going anywhere for as long as they "own" you.
