If you look at the photo of the Virginia Tech killer, it seems like his eyes are out of alignment--one is set higher than the other or something. I've noticed this in a lot of pictures of psychopathic killers. Is this something that is known within forensics or psychiatry? Does it indicate some kind of brain defect?
I don't want to be offensive--I'm sure if someone looks like that they aren't necessarily a psychopath, but it's strange!

Many years ago, the way a person was checked to see if he was a criminal was by head measurments. There was some formula used by scientists and when several different measurments were made of the human skull it could be used as a gage to measure a human beings criminal tendencies.

I too believe that what a person looks like doesn't matter, but I have been facinated over the years by photos of serial killers whos eyes seem set very close together.

A study was done years ago to try and identify criminals by body type. A set of facial and body requirements were established and people were identifed as criminals my meeting certain physical criteria. This study showed that this method was flawed down to its core. Instead what I think we can determine from what you've noticed is that most people who become psychotic killers may be differant from us physically. They may look strange and humans tend to make fun of people who look differant, we mistreat the indivuduals. This combined with genetics and any number of factors can lead to an eventual mental breakdown that can lead to violent, psychotic behavior.

Measuring heads... Eye alignments...Sounds like Nazi Germany policies to me; although many of you are too young to remember/understand the small-minded ideas of that sort from the older day.
Its not what they physically look like, its what ideas are IN their heads.

Yes i noticed his cold uneven eyes also...he was a real sick jerk 'and it;s a shame he didn;t just kill himself instead of all the innocent people that he killed for nothing at all,.,. really really sad for the poor folks at virgina tech and all their family and friends of everyone who was hurt by this cold as$ killer.
