babies change everyday, but i recommend that you take pictures every 3 months, like newborn, 3, 6, 9, 12.

If you're going for Walmart ones, I don't see anything wrong with getting them as often as you'd like. Most places, professional ones, will have packages where they take portraits every 3 months. For my daughter's first year, it just happened to work out that I took her every 4 months, just to Walmart. It just kinda happened that way, but in that amount of time there are definitely some changes! Walmart's prices are excellent if you want them done often, and you get a decent amount of pics. Even if there are no huge changes, I'm sure you will treasure having them anyway if that's what you really want to do.

There are definate changes in month to month development, but I think getting pictures done professionally every month is a little much. I did my son at 2 months, 6 months and 12 months. From 12 months on it will be a yearly thing.

Sometimes there is. I just keep a disposeable camera (or keep your regular camera) within reach for those cute moments during the month. It's much cheaper than even $5 Walmart portrait packages.

Plus, as a former photographer, I can tell you that the paper they print the pictures on is cheap quality - they won't last nearly as long as regular kodak 3"x5" pictures.

Not every month- the first few yes and you don't have to buy them ALL- 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18 and every year after.

I think that'd be an awesome thing to do. Be sure you use similar poses and backgrounds so you can see the changes over the months. You could even make a "Baby's first years" scrapbook with the pictures in order and you'll see the changes gradually. Great idea!

Yes and its not a lot of money basic package is only 20.00, I got my sons done every month for the first year. And I'm glad I did. I also had my son's pictures done in black and white at birth then 6 months a year. And those are now my most favorite pictures he's 10 now.

Yes, babies change quite a lot in the first few years. When my son was little I used to get his picture taken every other month until he started kindergarten. I'm really glad I have those now......he's 25 and has his own 3 month old son.

sure, you may want to do that for the first 12 months and then every year after that or on special occassions just to mark the milestone, you know? You might get tired of doing it every month until the baby is 5, but it's a good idea, why not?

No. My sister in law get portraits every month. I love her kids, but the portraits all over the house (hers and mine) are very annoying. Please, if you decide to do this, only order enough for everybody a couple of times per year. Better yet, buy a digital camera with lots of megapixels (mine is 5) and take casual portraits at home or at the park. A few times a year, portraits are nice. You'll be glad that you saved your money.
