Actually yes i have been in that situation up until now. I am married to that person and have 2 kids but what i say or my opinions dont count. He treats me like i am one of the kids and not his wife. So I am very insecure of myself and I feel like I am not smart enough because he never believe me in what I say but he can go to someone else and they say the exact thing i said and that is when he will believe it. I finally put my foot down and told him that i didnt like being treated that way and that i was going to leave unless i see some kind of change. Sure enough he came to realize he was in the wrong. dont ever let someone put you down to where you start doubting yourself.

Uh, yep. I'm not with him anymore.
He didn't "make" me, but he didn't help either. No one can truly make you do anything. However, if his or her attitude is such that you feel you need to doubt yourself, there's a problem.
My ex-boyfriend didn't like the things I liked, so he refused to participate in anything I liked. He refused to let me listen to certain musical artists while he was around. After things started to get bad, he'd tell me, "You need a hobby" or "You have low self-esteem." But then he'd do nothing to help me. I left that relationship barely a shadow of my true self.
It made me realize the importance of knowing who we are and defending that individuality.

Honey, only you can make the change. You show people how to treat you. Katt Williams says "how can someone else f@$% with your self esteem?! Its called SELF esteem!! And its true. If you truly love yourself, then you will only choose ppl who treat you right and you wnt be messin with these jerks

yes, and being in love with someone who always doubts myself only made me feel like he was bringing me down... i mean you put up with it for as long as you can because you want to believe things are suppose to work out, but there's only so much you can take, you know..
