Nontheists like myself would answer: from the inventive mind of Man, born of his fear of the unknown and inability to explain natural phenomena. Just one point of view among many.

Isaiah 46:9-10,Remember the first things of a long time ago, that I am the Divine One and there is no other God, nor anyone like me; 10 the One telling from the beginning the finale, and from long ago the things that have not been done; the One saying, ‘My own counsel will stand, and everything that is my delight I shall do’;
Revelation 4:11,  “You are worthy, Jehovah, even our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created
Colossians 1:15-17, He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 because by means of him all [other] things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. In actuality, we can not know with certainty that god exists. However, in the event that he (or possibly she) does, I can give you a theory: Qabalistically, in the Western Esoteric Tradition, before God there was Ain, No-thing, which is unknowable, incomprehensible; from Ain (which scientifically could be regarded as the naked singularity) emerged a Primal Ray, Original Consciousness, or God (if you wish). Each theology or philosophy has its own unique explanation pertaining to the origin of god or the cosmos or life; nevertheless, god (creator of humans or by humans?) remains the perpetual mystery whose answer no one can truly know...

The bible says that in the beginning was the word and the was was God. And God has always been. You are required to by faith believe, and faith is the substance of things not seen or heard but know that it is because the word of God says so.

Always was, always will be.
I am.

Exodus 3:13
13 Then Moses said to God, "Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they say to me, 'What is His name?' what shall I say to them?"
14 And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"
15 Moreover God said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: 'The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.'
