I saw that someone asked why did he do it; The facts are he did it and I don't care why I have no feelings of compassion for anyone that could do such. It doesn't matter if they claim he is mentally ill or not he deserves to DIE. He should be put in front of the firing squad. If he lived in the town that I live in he would already be dead. Tolerance is not something he would find in my community.

Chuck E. Cheese may be a lucrative place, but it would be more of a "take a baby girl and leave your son behind with a note" instead of an actual trade. Your son will be fine as long as you give him a lot of tokens to show how much you love him. Just remember that you can't trade back when your 15 year old daughter comes home pregnant, or becomes a stripper. You are on your own.

Life in prison without the possibility of parole.
I sincerely believe we have the capacity to place people in artificial environments, fed and watered and cleaned by computers...uninvolved with people. No prison culture. If you commit a crime for which the sentence is temporary, you leave only when retrained, and if part of a crime culture (gang, organized crime) you are relocated and will be sent back if you contact your former associates.
If they then are proven to be innocent, we have the capacity to make reparations and provide mental care.
Such a system would never happen, but it would be very effective, in much shorter times.
Anything is more effective than the death penalty and if you think jail is not torture, you've never worked in one.

Well, I'm anti-death penalty for a multitude of reasons the most prominent being that financial costs to taxpayers of capital punishment is several times that of keeping someone in prison for life and just that I don't think people should decide who dies and who doesn't. It's not our place to "play G-d".
Also, The "eye for an eye" mentality will never solve anything. A revenge philosophy inevitably leads to an endless cycle of violence. It is important to send a message to society that striking back at your enemy purely for revenge will always make matters worse.

Ah, now that's judging! Before you judge, try to determine what punishment you're worthy of. Remember that the offense you commit becomes more offensive depending on how exalted the offended one is. If it's God, any offense is despicable and worthy of death. Even your so-called little ones. Of course what this man did was horrible, and the law says he should be punished. And he will be. To die and suffer in eternity is more terrible than anyone could ever imagine, and we shouldn't wish it on anyone.

I agree that he should be put to death, I do not agree that he should suffer unnecessarily in the process.
But then I have a different view of Justice versus Revenge than most people I've talked to.
He maliciously and intentionally took the lives of others. His own is now forfeit. To me, that is Justice, and the loss of his life is the consequence of his action.
To castrate him and let him bleed to death is simply Revenge, and the primary purpose is to make others "feel better"... but to me, those who delight in torture in the name of Revenge become no better than the man himself.

I don't believe in the death penalty, mainly because I think it is an easy out. I agree with this statement.
"life in prison with pissed off inmates that love taking showers."
Life in prison can be hell for child murderers (or anyone for that matter)
and this person needs that kind of punishment, a life of permanent torture by other inmates in a prison .

Not sure why this question is on the religion board. Anyway, of course if this guy is guilty he should get life in jail and/or the death penalty.

death for killin the boy for sure
but killin his wife, I think sometimes that cant be helped
Hero
I can’t believe that it was good for anyone, to me worth the wait
I doubt that anybody got their money’s worth
But the attention sure felt great
With all eyes upon me, some filled with tears, some couldn’t see
It burned like a cancer when the answer did occur to me
Creep from the cradle, but a hero’s what I wanna be
Keep it moving people cause there’s nothing more for you to see
I’m just a jerk, but a hero’s what I wanna be yeah, oh yeah
Love me, love me sweet cowardice
Now that the thrill is mine for the moment
We really didn’t need another suicide
Or a song explaining why, but it’s not dignified
But I can’t seem to kiss it goodbye
It burned like a cancer...
Keep it moving people...
It burned ...
Keep it.....
Erase this disaster even faster than you came to see
A creep from the cradle and a hero driven wanna be
For your abuse, but not intended for internal use
I’m just a jerk , but a hero’s what I wanna be
