can undercover cop cars legally pull you over? i have heard a lot of different things about this, but one of the reasons is because there is no way for you to actually know if its a cop or not, and across the company people would get those old fords with tinted windows and pose as fake cops and were taking bribes from people after pulling them over and stuff like that. because how do you actually prove someone is a cop? think about it, the only thing i could think of would be the car and even in that case someone could still duplicate a cop car, but i doubt that would ever happen. but if anyone can give me any info on this thatd be great.

Police in an undercover capacity can pull you over. However this really doesn't do much to help their "undercover" status. Don't forget that most won't because if they are undercover they're more often than not driving a car that looks no different than any other one on the streets. If you mean cops in soft clothes or jeans and t-shirts working a narc thing, as long as they aren't in the middle of doing an investigation they can stop you.
Hell...I was in narcotics for 3 years and never bothered. I had bigger fish to fry.

If it was just for a minor speeding ticket?
That would be a real waste of time, blowing cover over a ticket. I have not heard of this happening. If you are not sure it's a cop, during the day I would pull over and wait in the car.
As he gets out of his car, yell back at him to follow you and drive to the nearest gas bar restraunt , whatever, where people are. Make sure he heard you. Stay at the speed limit. At night I would keep driving to the nearest place with people.
In Canada, the unmarked cars have so many lights on them that anyone passing can make out who it is, just about. The cops also wear the uniforms so they aren't undercover, Anyway,
they're called ghost carsand are just around to catch speeders
Again, thats what would do.

What you describe are "unmarked vehicles". There are officers in vehicles with no visible lights in traffic, and they will pull over speeders or other traffic violators.
Undercover officers are the ones that don't dress in uniform, and get into an area of crime to get the criminals.
Officers in unmarked vehicles can pull you over and issue you a ticket if you were caught breaking the law. You also have the right to ask for identification if you would like proof they are an officer. ALL officers can produce proof they are, and will upon request. They can't deny that request from a citizen. It is for the safety of them and the public.

Yes, they have jurisdiction. Police have jurisdiction to pull anyone over in the state, whether they are on or off duty. Usually an officer working undercover would not, unless you are seriously endangering other people.
As for people imitating police officers, it does happen. When you are pulled over, you have a right to ask the officer to show their badge and badge number. You can also request to talk to their supervisor or Watch Commander to verify their employment. The cops around here are required to address people with their full names and what department they work for. Don't be afraid to ask them to verify their identity and employment.

Tecnically all commissioned police officers can pull you over for the slightest misdemenor, but these elite cops will leave that to the regular patrol officers.

NO they are not allowed to search you or your vehicle unless you have been under arrest for drugs or cannabis. the officer needs to write you out a ticket / receipt for a stop and search. and when you get pulled over again and the officer tells you to exit your vehicle make sure you and your passengers step out of the car and always lock the car doors. and dont hand over your car keys if they ask for them . because they dont like that sort of thing .. been there dont it before. no need to say anything just tell them ,am i under arrest ,if not then you need a search warrant .i love pissing them off when they get all cocky and they think we dont know our rights..

Yes, you do have to pull over for an unmarked police car, and yes they are easy for psychopaths to duplicate. It sucks, but thats the way it is.
