It is about faith. If you have faith, you don't need someone to prove it to you.

1) God cannot tolerate sin, and more importantly, sin cannot exist in God's presence, much like a snowflake cannot exist in the heart of a sun.

2) Faced with the full presence of the undeniable, indisputable God, you would have no real choice about how to respond to Him. Worship Him, run or die from terror, they all destroy God's gift of Free Will, which God doesn't want to do. He'd rather humans chose to love Him, rather than be forced into it.

3) Why should He?, If God exists, which I believe He does, He is the supreme ruler of the universe, not some performing animal

His proof is all around us. My personal experience is I met a woman who invited me to her prayer group and they all prayed that I would find a job. I've been looking for 5 years. After 2 days I got a job. God works in his own way. Plus all He asks is that we have faith in His existence. He has given us a choice to make and it's up to us.
I admit that I have wavered in believing, but after sitting back and reflecting on my life, the good and bad, I see that God is taking me to where He wants me to be. He works in his own time and way and wants us to learn from our journey, and give Him thanks for His mercy and forgiveness and all that He does for us.
We must first give God the glory and thanks.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if God did roam the earth in person!!! Someday he will again.

Why don't you listen to all Christian teachings before questioning one. We are here to be tested and to learn. Faith is an essential part of God's plan. How would you ever learn or be happy if things were always easy? You will know He exists if you put your trust in Him. He doesn't hide himself from those who have shown that they believe. He will manifest his existence and his love to them. I know He lives, not because I have been told He does, but because of what I have experienced.

Jesus is God in human form and even in His time on earth not everyone believed in Him. That's because they didn't WANT to.

The time will come when He will prove it to everyone. One day every knee WILL bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is LORD. But for many it will not be a joyful confession, because they didn't acknowledge Him as Lord in this life-time while they lived on earth.

Because then he wouldn't.

God exists because of faith. Faith is defined as belief in absence of proof. If God proves he exists, he denies faith and therefor ceases to exist.

First, lets ask; "Does God believes that God exists?"

And the answer we can all shout out together in beautiful chorus is: "Yes, of course God believes that God exists!".

Isaiah 44: 6-8

6 "This is what the LORD says—
Israel's King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty:
I am the first and I am the last;
apart from me there is no God.
7 Who then is like me? Let him proclaim it.
Let him declare and lay out before me
what has happened since I established my ancient people,
and what is yet to come— yes, let him foretell what will come.
8 Do not tremble, do not be afraid.
Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago?
You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me?
No, there is no other Rock; I know not one."

So, God does believe that God exists. In fact, God believes that He is the only God who exists. He is the first, and He is the last. Everything starts and ends with God.

Second question: "Does God think that His existence is a problem to others".

Perhaps the answer to this one is slightly more trickier. Let me start by saying 'No'. I don't think God does think that His existence is a problem (in terms of his existence being unknown).

Romans 1: 18-21

18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

The Bible says that God has revealed Himself, and all men are without excuse. I don't think the problem is that we do not know that God's exists, I would bet the savings in my lil green piggy bank (not alot in there... ), that we all know that God exists, but it is our sinful nature which rejects God and which makes us Rebel against Him.

Fred G. Zaspel writes the following:

So again we see that familiar trait of man. His problem is not a lack of evidence. His problem is rebellion. He is not comfortable with the God Who most obviously is, and so he tries to deny Him. Knowing full well that God is, that He is wise, that He is powerful, that He is holy and righteous and just, that He will punish evil; and knowing full well that God is good and that his relationship with Him must be -- and may be -- restored; knowing all this he still rebels.

So What?

This is God's answer to that often-asked question about the heathen. Those who live in remote places and have never heard the message of salvation in Jesus Christ, are they responsible? Will they be punished for their sin? Well, God says, is their problem really a lack of information? And are these men, then, good or sinful?

You see, the problem with us all, universally, is not that we have not heard enough. The problem is that what we have heard and seen we have refused. The problem is not ignorance; the problem is rebellion. You can argue all day that the primitive heathen don't know enough for salvation, but the fact remains that they know plenty to establish their condemnation. And this is true of primitive savages and men of modern sophistication also. What they know has been, to some degree, refused. As such they are guilty.

This fact of man's universal rebellion against God partially explains also the question of the various tragedies that occur. How could God allow it? Good question! And the answer is obvious: these are but tokens of a coming wrath that is justly deserved (Romans 1:18, 32). The warning should be carefully heeded.

So, I think to your first question, we must ourselves reject the talk that comes from the mouth of those who do not believe in God. Psalm 14: 1 says that the fool says in his heart "there is no God". Why is he a fool? Because God has made it obvious that He exists. Even Richard Dawkins, the most prominent Atheist, and attacker of Christianity will be held accountable. Through His knowledge, and science he has seen the glory of God through creation, more than most people, and yet he has denied there is God. Bertrand Russel (whom our friend Somnium quoted above) will be another one. I firmly believe we must reject the lie that says people will only believe in God when they know he exists, when they have personally witnessed him.

We have advertised on a community Forum the other day, for people in the area to join us for Christianity explored course (if they were interested). It was a friendly advertisment for people to come and discover what the Christian faith is all about, and what they believe, thats all (PS - it is completely legal for us to do so too - that is why the community forum exists). The amount of people who replied to the topic in almost complete anger that we could do such a thing as advertise Christianity and 'trick' people in to becomng believers was enourmous! (Which is ironic because it is a very conservative, evangelical, questions and discussion course - pure and simple). However, this is besides the point, one of the people who replied gave the same answer we have heard many times; "I would only believe if God came down and revealed himself to us."

All I want to shout out in utter amazement is: 'AGAIN?!'
Why? Because God has, hasn't He? He came down, humbled himself as a man, took the very nature of a servent and died for those whom he loved. God has revealed Himself in three amazing ways. His creation, His Son Jesus Christ and His Word.
