The Bible tells us, “Man born of woman is of few days and full of trouble. He springs up like a flower and withers away; like a fleeting shadow, he does not endure....If a man dies, will he live again” (Job 14:1-2, 14)?

Like Job, nearly all of us have been challenged by this question. Exactly what happens to us after we die? Do we simply cease to exist? Is life a revolving door of departing and returning to earth in order to achieve personal greatness? Does everyone go to the same place, or do we go to different places? Is there really a heaven and hell, or is it just a state of mind?

The Bible tells us that there is not only life after death, but eternal life so glorious that “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9). Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, came to the earth to give us this gift of eternal life. “He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).

Jesus took on the punishment that each of us deserves and sacrificed His very life. Three days later, He proved Himself victorious over death by rising from the grave, in Spirit and in flesh. He remained on the earth for forty days and was witnessed by thousands before rising to His eternal home in heaven. Romans 4:25 says, “He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised from the dead to make us right with God.”

The resurrection of the Christ was a well-documented event. The apostle Paul challenged people to question eyewitnesses for its validity, and no one was able to contest its truth. The resurrection is the cornerstone of the Christian faith; because Christ was raised from the dead, we can have faith that we, too, will be resurrected.

Paul admonished some early Christians who did not believe this: “But tell me this – since we preach that Christ rose from the dead, why are some of you saying that there will be no resurrection of the dead? For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised either” (1 Corinthians 15:12-13).

Christ was only the first of a great harvest of those who will be raised to life again. Physical death came through one man, Adam, to whom we are all related. But all who have been adopted into God's family through faith in Jesus Christ will be given new life (1 Corinthians 15:20-22). Just as God raised up Jesus' body, so will our bodies be resurrected upon Jesus' return (1 Corinthians 6:14).

Although we will all be eventually resurrected, everyone will not go into heaven together. A choice must be made by each person in this life to determine where he or she will be going for eternity. The Bible says that it is appointed for us to die only once, and after that will come judgment (Hebrews 9:27). Those who have been made righteous will go into eternal life in heaven, but unbelievers will be sent to eternal punishment, or hell (Matthew 25:46).

Hell, like heaven, is not only a state of existence, but a literal, and very real, place. It is a place where the unrighteous will experience never-ending, eternal wrath from God. They will endure emotional, mental, and physical torment, consciously suffering from shame, regret, and contempt.

Hell is described as a bottomless pit (Luke 8:31, Revelation 9:1), and a lake of fire, burning with sulfur, where the inhabitants will be tormented day and night forever and ever (Revelation 20:10). In hell, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, indicating intense grief and anger (Matthew 13:42). It is a place “where the worm never dies and the fire never goes out” (Mark 9:48). God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but desires them to turn from their wicked ways so that they can live (Ezekiel 33:11). But He will not force us into submission; if we choose to reject Him, He has little choice but to give us what we want – to live apart from Him.

Life on earth is a test – a preparation for what is to come. For believers, this is eternal life in the immediate presence of God. So how are we made righteous and able to receive this eternal life? There is only one way – through faith and trust in God's Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die like everyone else, will live again. They are given eternal life for believing in me and will never perish...” (John 11:25-26).

The free gift of eternal life is available to all, but it requires that we deny ourselves some worldly pleasures and sacrifice ourselves to God. “And all who believe in God's Son have eternal life. Those who don't obey the Son will never experience eternal life, but the wrath of God remains upon them” (John 3:36). We will not be given the opportunity to repent from our sins after death because once we see God face to face, we will have no choice but to believe in Him. He wants us to come to Him in faith and love now. If we accept the death of Jesus Christ as payment for our sinful rebellion against God, we are guaranteed not only a meaningful life on earth, but also everlasting life in the presence of Christ.

Oh yes, Heaven and Hell are very real. Heaven means living in pardise and no pain suffering dying Joy Pure Joy. LIFEEVERLASTING
Hell is the lake of fire pure misery and the bible says of our own making. The worm will never die. Not even one drop of water will be had to those who are there. They will how ever know what is going on in heaven there will be a great divide where noone can cross. it will be so bad it cannot even be imagined here on earth. Revelation in the bible.
I am striving for the prize which is the great reward HEAVEN. Only on jugdement day will the believer be gathered together and taken home. The bible says many will try BUT only a few will make it. for many reasons.
1 The Devil is a lier and great deceiver.
2 We may not no we have been deceived until it is to late.
3 The road is so narrow that you can fall off if you don't really lisen to every word softly spoken to you by the holy spirit.

My goal is to do everything God wants me to do and not waver, it is so hard at times because we have a need to be liked and to bealike everyone of our peers sometimes. The Lord Jesus is good and knows my heart so I beleive with that in mind I am going to make it. The lord Jesus died on the cross to save me from my sins and I am not worthy but I beleive on him to help me through. And yes right now I would go to heaven. Praise God

I believe both Heaven and Hell are real. If I fell down dead right now, I feel confident that I would go to Heaven. (Because I have accepted Jesus as my Savior) And how wonderful for me...I'd get to do what I love most of all - praising my Father throughout all time.

However, I feel the greatest lie by satan is that he (and hell) doesn't exist (along with God Our Father). People unwittingly purport his "evil" ways and are pawns without realizing it. They make claims like, "Bring on hell"; "Oh yeah - give me the devil before ANY God". "Gonna love serving satan".

Oh it makes my skin crawl...not because it's any of my business - you can do/say whatever you want...believe what you will....but BECAUSE I think those people are just saying things to be different and "cool" with all the non-believers.

I really don't think they understand what they're doing. They are getting stuck in a trap they won't realize until it's too late.

I shudder to think of how many have gone before them.
Why do I care...I dunno. Just sensitive to the plight of man and their "fates", I guess.

Please be mindful of what you speak. Unless you've got the hard facts and the "money" to back it up, don't write those checks.

Just think about it for a second. An all-powerful God creates this whole universe just so that when you die, he can decide whether you burn forever for doing things slightly wrong, or experience eternal bliss for doing what happened to have been written in one of the religious books.
Drivel, nonsense. All of it. There is no way there is either a heaven or a hell.

I believe in Good and Evil. I believe that you get punished in this world. I believe you get punished eternally. I believe you have to let good take over for evil in life. I believe God and Satan are in a Holy War. I know that there are giant worms under the earths crust scientists proved it. Jesus said hell where the worms dieth not. I believe in Heaven (good) and Hell (evil).
I believe good has to be seperated from bad in the afterlife and thats the way it should be no bad people or murderers etcc.. get into Heaven with me, i dont want them there and they dont deserve to be there.

I think that it's up to yourself if you should believe in it. I do believe because it forces you to think of death as something that isn't bad. But you should believe whatever you want because it not like there is any proof that it exists. I would go to heaven right now.

Yes.... But not necessarily in the same way you mean or understand it.

Here's a different take on Heaven and Hell for you to consider:

--The secrets of Heaven and Hell

by Fr. John W. Groff Jr.,
A 3rd Serving of Chicken Soup for the Soul

The old monk sat by the side of the road. With his eyes closed, his legs crossed and his hands folded in his lap, he sat. In deep meditation, he sat.
Suddenly his zazen was interrupted by the harsh and demanding voice of a samurai warrior. "Old man! Teach me about heaven and hell!"

At first, as though he had not heard, there was no perceptible response from the monk. But gradually he began to open his eyes, the faintest hint of a smile playing around the corners of his mouth as the samurai stood there, waiting impatiently, growing more and more agitated with each passing second.

"You wish to know the secrets of heaven and hell?" replied the monk at last. "You who are so unkempt. You whose hands and feet are covered with dirt. You whose hair is uncombed, whose breath is foul, whose sword is all rusty and neglected. You who are ugly and whose mother dresses you funny. You would ask me of heaven and hell?"

The samurai uttered a vile curse. He drew his sword and raised it high above his head. His face turned to crimson and the veins on his neck stood out in bold relief as he prepared to sever the monk's head from its shoulders.

"That is hell," said the old monk gently, just as the sword began its descent. In that fraction of a second, the samurai was overcome with amazement, awe, compassion and love for this gentle being who had dared to risk his very life to give him such a teaching. He stopped his sword in mid-flight and his eyes filled with grateful tears.

"And that," said the monk, "is heaven." --

Hell is real otherwise Jesus would have not had to die on the cross. Heaven is real because God mentions it in his word and God does not lie.

Yes, it is real.

If I died now, my heart fills to think I would see the blessed face of Jesus Christ in Heaven and pray that I was able to glorify Him with the time I spent here.
