How to Heat Frozen Crab Legs
Instructions
Difficulty: Easy
Steps
1
Step One
Place the crab legs on a rack over a watertight pan, cover with plastic wrap and allow to thaw completely in the refrigerator, about a day or two.
2
Step Two
If you have a steamer big enough to accomodate the crab legs, assemble it and bring the water to a simmer. Steam the crab legs for about 5 minutes, or until they are heated through.
3
Step Three
If you don't have a steamer, heat the oven to 400 degrees F. Place legs in shallow baking pan on a rack and roast for about 5 minutes.
4
Step Four
Serve the legs with lemon wedges, cocktail sauce and melted butter, or use the meat as called for in your favorite recipe.
Tips & Warnings
* Thawing the crab legs in the refrigerator is safer than letting them thaw at room temperature. Some people thaw them in the microwave or as part of the reheating process, but this can often lead to overcooking.
* Add garlic or minced fresh tarragon to the melted butter for extra flavor.

It's easy. Just bring a large pot of water with a steamer basket in it to a boil. Then toss the frozen crab legs in. Cover and steam for 12 minutes.
Then just crack them and dip the meat in garlic-lemon butter. And save all the shells and make stock the next day for a chowder.

Just got this info, tried it, works great:
1. Run frozen crab legs under cold water
2. Put in microwave
3. Wave for about 5 minutes or until heated through
I know it sounds crazy, but it works great. I normally steam them but they sometimes get too water-logged and mushy. This is a sure fire way to heat them up and your house will not have that fishy smell. Try it. I serve mine with some melted butter that I add fresh minced garlic to with a squeeze of lemon. Delicious!

I thaw mine in the fridge over night than I steam them for a few minutes. You can be creative if you dont have a steamer. You can use a large pot add a little water to it. Get a metal colander and put inside the pot. Get the water to a boil and place the crab legs in the colander and place a lid on top.

Prepare what ever sauce you wish to have your crab legs in. eg. Chinese ginger/garlic sauce or Indian curry sauce etc. As the sauce starts boiling, lightly crack the legs with meat hammer and add to the liquid. Boil them through (3 to 5 minutes)and it is done.
