Yea sure they wake you up in the mornig but the reason why is to give you information that can save and prolong you life

They are just giving a warning that Jesus commisioned his followers to do (Matt.28:19.20)

But I think the reason why they are hated so much is because it was foretold by Jesus (Matt. 24:9-14) (Matthew 10:22)

But you know what even Jesus was hated and even died on a torture stake for preaching so why should JW expect anything less?

It is true that Jehovah's Witnesses are not loved by everyone.
http://jw-media.org/newsroom/human_rights.htm
Some people hate Jehovah's Witnesses out of ignorance, or over some misunderstanding. A few may have had a bad personal experience with an individual who claimed to be a Jehovah's Witness, and prejudicially extended their animus to this entire Christian religion.

However, it seems that the majority of anti-Witness hatred is motivated by religious intolerance and bigotry. A few may even be motivated against their Christian worship by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.

(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers

Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.

(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

As a baptized Catholic, I can say that I do not hate jehovah's witnesses. In all of the sermons I heard, I never heard the Catholic Priest preach hatred against anyone, including Jehovah's witnesses. I think your friends are poor representatives of their respective faiths. On the other had, there are many fundamentalist christians who hate everyone, including Catholics, muslims, jehovah's witnesses, and mormons.

First of all, the Jehovah's Witnesses aren't hated as much as Christians. No, Jehovah's Witnesses aren't Christians because they do not abide in the doctrine of Christ (2 John 9). They do not preach the doctrine of Christ, they do not preach the gospel of Christ. They believe that the Earth is going to be restored to Paradise, when Jesus said, "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there you may be also (John 14:2-3)." Jesus didn't mention the world being restored to Paradise here, did he?

As for "giving the warning that Jesus commissioned his followers to do," Jesus told them to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. What is the gospel?? 1 Corinthians states, "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: and that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep (1 Corinthians 15:1-6)." The Jehovah's Witnesses do not preach this message. They're under the impression that Jesus died on a torture stake and that his resurrection was because God had created him a new body, and that he was spirit and not flesh, which is so far from the truth that it's scary.

As for the torture stake idea, So many scriptures prove that Jesus died on a cross. Here are just a few:

Matthew 27:32, 40, 42
Mark 15:21, 30, 32
Luke 23:26
John 19:17, 19, 25, 31
1 Corinthians 1:18
Galatians 5:11; 6:12, 14
Ephesians 2:16
Philippians 2:8; 3:18
Colossians 1:20; 2;14
Hebrews 12:2

No where in scripture does it mention that Jesus died on a torture stake. He was indeed tortured, and mankinds' souls were at stake, but that's where the connection ends to a "torture stake." Roman custom proves that Jesus was crucified on a "cross."

My only guess as to why Jehovah's Witnesses are not hated, but strongly dislike by others is because of the false doctrine that they teach. The bible warns about numerous false teachers that would be coming into the world and of the doctrines they would be preaching, which would be different from the doctrine that he instructed the Apostles to teach, thereby damnable (Galatians 1:6-9).

Jesus Christ is the way!!! "I am the way, the truth and the life: No man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6)."

All religions are hated by someone else, and Christians the world over are hated and persecuted for their beliefs. To think that JWs are hated in any special sense shows a lack of knowledge and respect for the suffering of others.

The reason JWs are hated is the same reason most cults are hated, including Mormons, Moonies and Hare Krisnas. All these religions are high control religions that strictly believe that only they have truth and are worthy of salvation. They have strong recruting drives that push their beliefs on others.

JW believes that they are being persecuted b/c of what they believe in. Following Jesus commandment to preach God's kingdom.

Ironically though, most criminals I constantly hear about on TV and other news articles are NOT Jehovah's Witnesses, but of other religions. Notice: if it is a JW that commited a crime (which you rarely will hear) it becomes breaking news. WHY? Because JW are known to live by "high bible standards". True christians? I THINK SO!

The reasons that JW are disliked so much is because they go door-to-door which is intrusive. Also, they have a religion that excludes many people and separates their congregation from non-JW folks. They also have some beliefs that seem a little strange (especially when taken out of context) and they don't celebrate their spirituality with holidays. It seems very restrictive and controlling. That's why is seems like a cult and nobody likes a cult.

My roommate was raised a JW so now if they knock on the door I can just say, "No thanks, I already have one!" and close the door. I respect her beliefs but I'm not converting or listening to or reading any propaganda.

I think you answered your own question. I am not a jehovah's witness, but I believe people hate that they come with the word of God. We actually live less than a mile from one of thier churches and they drop by every other week. We stand around and talk about the bible. I find it a great learning experience.

Trust a JW to ask such a question. And not due to looking for a sympathy vote either! I'm sure the Asker genuinely believes he and his friends are hated, and it actually pleases them to see it, because they take it as 'proof' that they must be Christians.

There's a problem though. They are not being persecuted for Jesus' name sake, because they don't bear the name of Christ. They bear the name of Jehovah. Another problem is that huge numbers of Christians who are not JWs are being persecuted today - horrendously. At our prayer meeting this week we learned of three Christian men who worked in a Christian publishing house having their throats cut - this was in eastern Turkey - for no other reason than that they were Christians. I've never read a word in JW literature sympathising with such people or even acknowledging such martyrdom occurs. To read their literature, you'd think only JWs received persecution! Huh! Check out www.cws.org.uk to see what's going on in the world of the persecuted Church.

A variety of reasons, though I think many would not say they feel hate perse. One reason is often because of missinformation and missunderstandings. When we here things, at times we believe them without knowing whether they are true or not.

If you use telemarketing techniques, expect to be treated like a telemarketer.

Beyond that, you seem to be unable to understand that what you believe is not the objective truth, and quotes from your religion book mean nothing to most people.
