Could a medication in early pregnancy cause a miscarriage ?

In Feburary I had a miscarriage and I think it was caused by some medication they gave me in the E.R It was mid Feburary when I went to the emergancy room so I was only like two weeks pregnant. They gave me urine pregnancy test that come up negative. And then gave me two medications that are pregnancy x. That means that if you give a pregnant woman these medication IT WILL cause birth defects. Not to mention I had an allergic reaction to one of them .And as you know most early micarriages are due to birth defects that the mothers body picks up.

P.S I was pregnant a week later I took a pregnancy test and it was possitive. And then I went to my midwife and got a test too.

yeah it some medications can....and it sounds like urs did.
sorry about ur lost. i lost mine about 2 to 3 weeks ago too. so i feel your pain

There's no real way to say that you were actually pregnant because the test from the hospital came out negative, but I'm not saying you wern't. From my experience of trying to get pregnant for a while, stress made my period come late a few times. Sometimes I didn't even get one!! My husband was a soldier in the Army so the trips back and forth to Iraq added a lot of stress! But yes, medications CAN cause birth defects and even miscarriages in the first trimester of pregnancy, so do be careful!!!

I'm sorry for your loss. Some medications can cause miscarriage, but the hospital did do a pregnancy test and it came up negative so I don't think that you can hold them liable. You also can't fault them for your allergic reaction unless you told them that you were allergic to that drug before they gave it to you.
