My girls are almost 4 and 3 years old and have long, beautiful hair- because of that all our family and friends are always buying cute little barrettes, clips, ponytail holders, headbands etc. They almost always receive matching sets. We are very appreciative for their gifts, but the accessories are taking over the girls' bathroom cabinet!! It feels as though there are enough to do all the girls hair at any given elementary school!

Please help! I would love to hear some ideas as to how I can organize and store all these wonderful hair accessories and still be able to get to them when in a time crunch! I am grateful for your time and suggestions! Thank you in advance! :)

Get one of those plastic boxes from walmart with a lid and dividers. These are the kind they have for beads or something. They work great. Make sure its small enough to fit under the sink in the bathroom. You can even get one for each girl so they have their own hair stuff.

Well, for bows and stuff you can find some pretty ribbon, nice and wide, and tack it to the wall or back of the door. Attatch them and then when you need one they are all on display. For the smaller things, I use and rubbermaid storage container that is small and has four drawers. One for rubberbands, the other barrettes, etc..

I have one similar to this. Didn't cost this price, as I bought a single one, and it was purple for the girls. Just wanted to give you an idea of what I was talking about.

Add a shelf in the bathroom where you can place 2 clear boxes to hold all those accessories. If you are in an apartment where you can't put permanent attachments, consider one of those above-the-toilet etergeres or cabinets. I personally prefer an adjustable one that attaches with tension rods, but there are may varieties. Do get one with limited shelving--way easier to keep clean and it doesn't interfere with bathroom circulation, reducing chances of mold.

How about cute little baskets?

Or, for the barrettes, you can hang a pretty ribbon in the bathroom and clip the barrettes to it in a long line.

You can always donate extras to Goodwill, or put some away for a rainy day.

I devote one drawer in my daughter's chest to hair stuff, even though it doesn't fill it up....that way, everything is loose, and you can find it easily.

I keep all her barrettes and clips in a makeup bag that I got free when I bought clinique makeup!

You could also check out a sporting goods store....go into their fishing section (or even at walmart they have these), and there are boxes with little teeny compartments, normally for putting lures.

You can also get those little boxes at michael's or hobby lobby.....crafters like to put their beads and sequins in those little compartments.

I use one of the drawers in the bathroom. I have little tupperware bowel seperating each type of hairbow, one for little clips, one for bows one for scrunchies etc... If you have more I would put some in basket and set on the bathroom sink.

My Idea is to get small plastic tubs with Lids on it and put them in your hall cubord or under your Bathroom sink where you can grab them quickly.

Okay, this may sound silly, but a tool box is the way to go. I keep my makeup in a tool box and it is a life saver. Hope I helped! ♥

Did you ever use those Caboodles things for makeup when you were younger? You need something like that.
