1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. black pepper
20 chicken wing segments
1/2 cup butter OR margarine
1/2 cup hot sauce (see Notes, below)

-In a shallow dish, combine flour, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and peppers.
-Coat chicken entirely in the flour mixture; refrigerate coated wings for 1 hour; coat chicken again with remaining flour mixture.
-In a 2-quart saucepan, heat butter and hot sauce just until butter melts; turn heat to low and keep warm on stove top.
-Deep-fry chicken, 8 - 10 pieces at a time, in 375 degree oil (vegetable oil, canola oil, or peanut oil) for 13 minutes, turning once or twice.
-Drain chicken on a wire cooling rack for 30 seconds, then immediately toss fried chicken in buffalo sauce mixture and remove with a slotted spoon.
-Repeat with remaining chicken.

Adjusting the spiciness of the sauce: As is, the recipe produces a medium sauce. To change the amount of spiciness, simply adjust the butter-to-hot sauce-ratio:
Mild: Use 3/4 cup butter and 1/4 cup hot sauce.
Hot: Use 1/4 cup butter and 3/4 cup hot sauce.

Notes: I use Frank's® Buffalo Wing sauce in the recipe, as I enjoy the flavor of Buffalo sauce, but not the heat. If you like spice, you can use regular Frank's® Hot Sauce. I'm sure another hot sauce like Tabasco® would work fine, but Frank's® has a great flavor, not just heat. Use ranch dressing or blue cheese dressing as a dip for these fabulous wings!

It depends on how spicy you want it, if you want it spicy at all. For my kids, who don't like too much spice, I use just about any type of hickory barbeque sauce, and some butter. Heat it up on the stove, while cooking the wings. When the wings are done, and the sauce is hot pour some on the wings, in a big bowl, and coat them evenly. They love them. Now if you want some spicy wings, that aren't your normal every-day run-of-the-mill wings, get some chipotle flavored Tabasco sauce, and a bit of butter, heating it up on the stove the same as before. They are really good this way. Too bad you don't like the Frank's sauce. Maybe with the addition of the butter in the Frank's it would change your opinion.
Bon appitit!

Oooh, this is our favorite.

1/3 cup of Louisiana Hot Sauce
6 Tbsp. butter
1 packet Good Seasonings Italian seasoning dressing mix.

Melt the butter with the hot sauce, then whisk in the mix and let heat up for about 15 minutes. (Don't leave out the dressing mix, that's the secret.)

I found a "Moore's hot wing sauce". Located near the Moore's marinating sauce in the store.

Very Good

Honey-Chipotle Barbeque Sauce
4 tablespoons chipotle puree — available canned In Latin groceries and some supermarkets, labeled “chipotle in adobo”
3 cloves garlic
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons brown sugar
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
½ teaspoon cumin seeds,
½ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons chopped cilantroPlace all ingredients in a blender and blend until well mixed.

Note: If you can’t find chipotle puree, make your own by rehydrating chipotle peppers (smoked jalapenos) — about 4 peppers in boiling hot water. Then puree in blender.
