Someone told me they thought that was all made up my insurance companies to get more money. I disagree and think that boys have more accidents and more costly accidents, both in terms of lives lost and money. What do you know?

No actually insurance companies have people called actuaries who get paid very well to do nothing but study and compare things like this...like who gets in more accid boys vs girls....do people with a college degree have more accid than people without a even a highschool diploma....all kinds of crazy things like this are studied and have actual statistical data to prove it...it is not a way to just get more money...seriously...

That is why most insurance companies ask your social and tell you they now review credit...(this started about 5 yrs ago I think) because ACTUARIES...did several studies and showed that people with good credit are less likely to have an accident than people with bad credit....now keep in mind there is always an exception to every rule but insurance companies go by the majority....

It is all about responsibility when it comes to insurance...the more responsibility you show the better.

I know more teen girls that have had accidents than boys. One girl had two in the first year of getting her license, before her 17th birthday. And I see a lot of teen girls driving terrible talking on their cell phones...

If this keeps up, the insurance companies will start charging the girls more. And I think they should.

I would say they do. Most of us get out their and think we have something to prove to everyone. We push our vehicles to the limits. We race to beat the guy in one vehicle over. We drive stupid, and make poor decisions. But at least after the accident, or ticket, we can say how much fun it was. Also once your car hits over a 100 our adrenaline starts pumping. Thats when it really gets fun. We want to show off our mods or our need for speed.

according to Dr. G on Discovery Health, men have more accidents of all kinds. they just seem to do stupid stuff. they don't think about possible consequences or something. teenage boys (and girls) have a feeling that they're immortal. accidents happen to others, not to them.

teen boys are more likely to have more accidents because they are reckless, trying to prove them selves, and drink too much.
