unfortunately, there is no train station in las vegas. if you wanted to, you could take the train to Reno, and then take a connecting bus to Las Vegas. Its one of the easier options. Other than that, i would suggest flying into the airport in Vegas, as it is close to the strip. I hope this is of some help to you. good luck with your plans.

well I would suggest you take the train with a connect Amtrak
bus to Las Vegas
there are 3 trains that depart San Diego that connect to
a Las Vegas Amtrak bus from Los Angeles.
you can depart San Diego at 6:10am arr LA union station at 8:50
or you depart San Diego at 7:05am arrive LA at 9:50am
then depart on the Las Vegas bus at 10:10a arrives Las Vegas
at 4:00pm
or you can depart later from San Diego at 12:00n arrive
LA at 2:40pm -another Las Vegas bus departs at 3:40pm
arrives Las Vegas at 9:30pm
there also a 3rd connections depart San Diego at 3:00pm
with the connection puts you into Las Vegas at 11:50pm
all fares (with any discounts is $67.00

I would advise you to avoid Greyhound as they
are or so will be going thought a very bad labor
dispute (meaning a possible strike)
besides their service has gone to the pits
they have left me stranded at a bus station
and the station closes while are waiting for an extra section
which may not even bee operated by Gl in the first
place -another friend of mine was a GL bus which broke
down on the freeway the driver make the passengers walk to the station 5 miles away!
the buses always full so you would have to stand for hours on end. or miss the bus..

Just go to the bus or train station. They can give you all the info you need. The times and routes can change daily, so the get the most accurate answers you need to talk to the stations.

I think train rides are better, more roomy, and you feel better about getting up and moving around.
