Unfortunately in our thoughts of perfect peace nothing like hatred exists, the fact that the world is full of these instances just says that it must be part of the intricate web of universal law.............Because it just does!!!!!!!!!!!

Its the nature of the human mind, dear...

They need proper guidance and education. Everyone needs to know how to respect and tolerate one another without sense of prejudice or pride.

People need to know what's the difference between protecting and saving the lives of others and destruction, of which is good and evil. However, this is unfortunate as if some groups of people had deviated their set of believes/values for individualistic gain.

Another problem is greed, craving and lust. This is another cause of hatred in this world...

To sum all this up, the answer would be ignorance. If everyone is wise enough to bring themselves back to their senses, I doubt there will be much lesser degree of hatred in this world. We can't get rid of hatred by infusing it with more hatred, hatred ceases when there is more love... Hatred has to be dealt with, by living with it and tolerated, not being pushed further...

Cheers!

Because people are egotistical, selfish and prideful.

People tend to look at themselves, and their beliefs, their desires, their lives, as being the most important in the world. Naturally, to most people, their own life matters to them more than it might to most other people, but the trick in doing away with the nastiness and hatred in the world is to make people look at other people and care for the needs of those more than their own. As long as people view themselves as the single most important thing in their own lives, there will always be hatred, for no one can truly love without the ability to empathize, and empathy is impossible without the ability to see this world from another person's point of view.

Hope this answers your question, and I hope it helps...

From a Buddhist perspective the reason for hatred is fear due to ignorance. Not ignorance in the usual sense, rather ignorance of others because of the illusions surrounding folks perceptions of the world.

To me there is illusion in thinking there is some permanence to experience. That the beautiful flower will remain so, that the lovely sunset will remain so, that my ideas will always remain the same, that my lifestyle, circumstances, job, boss, wife, kids will remain as they are, that I'll never fight with my best friend, in fact any experience is subject to change. Yet folks persist in thinking otherwise.

Why do folks spend so much money on beauty products and plastic surgery, because they are afraid they will change and get older. Evidence of this thought pattern. They are afraid of change...why is it so...?

Because they see change as not normal...this is illusion. This thought pattern allows them to chase the illusion, chase the dream of permanence. They want to chase it because it makes them feel good when they do. It becomes their source of happiness, yet it is illusion, they are happily living in a dream. This selfishness manifests itself in other ways too, ways which are destructive to everyone else..why...? Because this selfishness pervades the way that they think in everything else they do. They think nothing of stabbing their colleagues in the back at work to make their dream world a reality, it makes them happy to do so because it is their dream their selfish fantasy, they do not care about others because their first thought is for themselves. They do not purposefully think of hurting others though, they ignore others, this why I used the term ignorance, others are ignored in the chase for the permanence dream, there is no malice, there is ignorance, ignorance of other people getting hurt.

The saddest part of the saga is that everyone is thinking the same thing so it has become survival of the meanest and the quickest...all because of a dream state they call permanence...an ignorant, selfish dream...because of a fear of change.

That to Buddhists is the reason for hatred, folks hate getting hurt by the ignorance of others. I have a solution as well but your question asked for the reasons for rather than the solutions to hatred.

Peace from a Buddhist....

Because so many religious leaders brainwash their followers into believing that their religion is the right one, and all other religions are either evil & their followers will all go to hell. I see this as hippocritical (in the Christian community) because does the bible not say "judge not lest ye be judged" or "those without sin cast the first stone".

Because we are in the end times. Matthew 24:12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.

Ignorance. Lack of foresight. Lack of understanding that actions have consequences; what goes around comes around; as ye sow, so shall ye reap...

...and lack of concern. :-[

Poor association...

Need I go on?

I guess we've got to do our bit to try to make the world a better, a brighter place.

It is a part of human nature. If humans can destroy that which is not them, there is a greater chance for their own genes to survive.

It's been like that since the beginning of time. Human nature, I suppose?
