Kabbalah is basically Jewish mysticism that has roots in Ancient Egypt. There's a really great book (fun for beginners) called Qabbalistic Concepts: Living the Tree by William Grey. It's a great introductory book on Kabbalah.

LabGirl hit the nail on the head. Some people treat Kabbalah as a branch of Judaism, but it's not. It's a part.

Kabbalah is a metaphysical system developed by Jews and requiring Judaism to be fully understood.

You cannot fully grasp it without Judaism.

That being said, it's no more a branch of Judaism than, say Manhattan Bagel (a US National Bagel chain) is. Kabbala developed from Judaism, but didn't change Judaism.

When it comes to Kabbalah, if it's "known", chances are, it's either very simple, or very fake. REAL Kabbalah requires more background in Judaism than even most religious Jews possess...

the Kabba is a black stone in Mecca, Sudia Arabia...
traveling to Mecca is an annual pilrimage and a obligation so long as we can afford it. it is a Muslim tradition, after the month of Ramadan we are to make...dhul hajj...This season of worship brings many benefits, such as the opportunity to correct one’s faults and make up for any shortcomings or anything that one might have missed. Every one of these special occasions involves some kind of worship through which the slaves may draw closer to Allaah, and some kind of blessing though which Allaah bestows His favour and mercy upon whomsoever He will. The happy person is the one who makes the most of these special months, days and hours and draws nearer to his Lord during these times through acts of worship; he will most likely be touched by the blessing of Allaah and will feel the joy of knowing that he is safe from the flames of Hell.

it has it's own miracles tha happened for this stone...their is this one story of the Prophet Mohammed PEACE BE UPON HIM...

the rejected stone is the nation of Islhmael, the nation of Mohammed. PBUH

"Kabbalah" is an ancient form of Jewish mysticism, and for the most part, is nonsense. Its worth checking out from an historical point of view, but don't take it seriously - most Jews don't.
