I need to get Microsoft Word 2007 for my office. It will go on 6 computers. I got an estimate for $1682 including the installation. Is this a good price?

It is reasonable if you are installing full versions of Microsoft Word.

If you are upgrading from an earlier version you are getting hosed.

Microsoft Word 2007
Per Amazon.com
$199.99 ea full version
$89.99 ea upgrade version

200x6 = $1200 + tax full version
90x6 = $540 + tax upgrade version

if tax = 8.5%
$1682 - ($1200 +tax $100) = $382 = Labor +profit
$1682 - ($540 +tax $45) = $1097 = Labor +profit

Well as the last guy pointed out, if you are upgrading that is a terrible price, but even at full version prices, still not good. For one thing, you would be simply better off buying from Amazon at $200 a piece and install yourself, a five year old could install Word. In addition, there should be a way you can get a volume discount, I am not sure because I have never done it, but I do know that Microsoft offers volume discounts.

This is of course for just Word, if you meant Office, that would be a different story.
