I was recently shown this. I am completely stunned by this and have no idea what to think. Religion aside, this is wrong in my eyes.

Do you see this as brainwashing? They picket at dead soldiers' funerals. "Thank God For Dead Soldiers"

If you can watch this all tell me what you think... Is it wrong and disgusting or do you agree with them... What are your thoughts?

You know what? I don't say this lightly, but exposing 11 kids to such brainwashing is equal to child abuse. Somebody should lock this lunatic! I've seen one interview with her last month, she's completely insane. Look, as you know I'm a Muslim and the basis of social life in Islam is marriage - one man, one woman. There is no place for homosexuality in Islam. But there is also nothing in Qur'an instructing me to go out and yell 'God hates fags!' As far as I know, that person might reach Heaven before I do. And since when did mourning after dead become worshipping the dead? Outrageous!

Me being a former MARINE (6 year vet) and also an ex-National Guardsman (6 year reservist), and knowing and serving with people that have been to all major conflicts since Vietnam, I would say that these people have a right to voice their opinions.

BUT and READ THIS AS WELL ... That religion is sick and insulting to all. I only heard 3 minutes of the video, and could not stomach any more. Do they have no respect for the dead -- whether they are soldiers or gays or even one of their own. To me they are no better than a terrorist group, and just because they are Americans does not make them any better than Al Quida, or Hamas, or even the KKK or Knights of the White Camilia (sp?).

When I signed my contract with the Marines and every re-enlistment afterwards, I took an oath to DEFEND THIS COUNTRY AGAINST ALL TERRORISTS, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC.

Holy Canoli... I'm so sickened by the fact that these people are even alive and spewing their garbage to the world. There is a video of them on Tyra Banks' show and the older daughter said she's been picketing since she was 5 (she's now over 18). She says she didn't understand it then and she kinda doesn't understand it now, but it's her duty so she does it.

That is called "brainwashing" boys and girls... they told her to do and she did.

These people are sick. If you haven't yet, visit their website at http://www.godhatesfags.com and see what else they believe. It's truly frightening. Where are all the "true" Christians who don't agree with these people? Why are they even allowed to speak. I know this is a free country, but these people are hideous!

I am not going to watch this, but I am pretty sure this is the same "Baptist" church from Ohio I believe?? They are also going to picket at the funerals of the Virginia Tech students because "they were killed because they were homosexual and not true Christians"

Too much hate and intolerance in this world. I am Christian and truly believe that the devil is at work big time here in the "real world" Only have to turn on the news to see that.

It is disgusting no matter if you are religious or not, I agree with you 100%!!!! I truly wish that the media and internet would NOT show any of these disgusting people.

I started too watch the video but had to turn it off, it was just too disturbing.
These are truly disturbed people, so full of hate, how can they even face their God?
These people should be vilified for their hatred of gays and soldiers.
To picket a funeral of a soldier who died to protect their right to picket is horrendous.
Other than that I am so horrified by this that I am at a loss for words.

Well, it's just plain evil. It's the Phelps clan, aka the Westboro Baptist Church. They've been doing this for years and years and years. It used to be only funerals for homosexuals where they'd picket. They've branched out now, so to speak.

The members of the this "church" are pretty much members of the Phelps family. So yeah, I'd call it brainwashing, along with a whole lot of insanity.

They are an extremist minority within their own religion.

Many Christians have distanced themselves from it.

Eventually, the James Dobson, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson types will have to realize that their statements are very similar when they start losing congregations. And money. The wallet is the only way to change the minds of people like Dobson and Robertson.

That is wrong, and disgusting, those people are the biggest bunch of @ssholes I've ever seen in my life.
I can't believe that they're allowed to protest at a funeral! And the cops actually had to be present to keep them at a distance! i can't imagine how anyone could think the way they do. They have no proof for any of their beliefs whatsoever

Yes, this is certainly brainwashing. It is brainwashing of the worst kind. Here you have families - adults and children. Those children are relying on their parents to give them the basis on which to form future opinions about their world. Most parents try to give their children tools with which to approach their world in a loving manner. When children are fed hatred, that is usually how they approach their world - with hatred. How sad to see young minds being fed such hurt.

I have to assume it's about Fred Phelps. His actual intentions are interesting, believing that God is killing our soldiers to show how wrong the actions of the US are, but HIS actions are equally perverse. There is a line and he has crossed it.

Interestingly enough, Fred Phelps used to be a civil rights lawyer who fought vehemently for the rights of African Americans through the '60s and '70s. Gays, however, are apparently subhuman in his eyes.
