I loved my Vegas wedding and would do it again in a heartbeat. If you want to get married but don't want to pay a fortune for it, it's the way to go. We got married in September and it wasn't too hot - it was just a good temperature.
Have a great time!

I loved my Vegas wedding. I do not regret it at all! I was very happy with the outcome, and we had a lot of people that flew out for the wedding that we did not expect. We also had a reception out there and I can tell you that everyone talked about it for weeks after!
I got married in January, which is an off month so to speak -- but there were A LOT of brides around when I got married. The weather was decent -- I would highly suggest not doing it during the summer as it is very hot and you may be uncomfortable. You could also have a wedding in the Grand Canyon in Nevada (not too long of a drive from Vegas).
Perhaps if you give everyone some notice, you would be surprised as to how many people may wnat to go. I would highly suggest you checking out the hotel websites individually and the chapels on the strip to look for a package deal you like. Each hotel has beautiful chapels and chapel packages...
BTW -- I carried my wedding gown on the flight -- don't listen to people who only mention chapels on the strip with Elvis -- the hotels offer beautiful packages and wonderful preachers who preside over the ceremony.
Good luck!

I eloped 6 years ago..soon to be 7. I loved it. The only thing I regret was my dress. I didn't wear a typical white wedding dress. It was just an ordinary summer dress. If I had to change anything it would have only been the dress. Oh I didn't have family there either. But I got married at Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel and for like 20 bucks they will post it on the Internet live for you. That's what we did. We paid like 20 to 30 bucks and they posted it live and our family back home got to see it. Plus everybody downloaded off of the web. I think they leave it on for 3 months.

I got married in Vegas in December 2005 and would do it again if I had the choice- it was a lot of fun. The only thing was that was my second marriage so I did not want a big wedding, plus our families aer not in this country so they were not able to attend. If you want your family there, I would suggest getting married closer to home, or at least throw a reception/dinner party for all of them when you get back so they can be a part of it too. Good luck to you!

Got married in Vegas June 2004. It was great! It was hot though, 108 degrees that day, but we are from Florida, and the heat in NV is so dry, that it really didnt bother us. Our extended family did not come with us, just our parents, so we had a big cookout 2 weeks after we got back, so everyone could watch the video, and see the pictures.

i wanted to go to Vegas for my wedding but everyone said my dress was to pretty to get married in a chapel by Elvis. that is what i wish i really would have done. you can also have you wedding video taped in certain chapel's and play it for a reception when you get back. we are going to go to Vegas for one of anniversary for a renewal of vows. i would say go for it, its is cheaper, and lots of fun.
