My thoughts....People who go to church every sunday, saturday..(whatever your religion) wouldnt talk like that if they truly believed in god....How can these people say things like that without sinning...i havent read the whole bible but isnt calling your neighbour hateful things a sin? I think those crazy church go-ers should really worry about them self and repent themselves for saying such evil, mean and hurtful things!!!!!!

I beleive that ALL people are sinners (according to God and the bible) - we ALL fall short of the Glory of God.

It's not exlcusive to any specific sector of society.

The Old Testament puts it this way in Leviticus 18:22 "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination [before the Lord]" Should you prefer the New Testament, consider 1 Corinthians, again...this time look at 1 Cor. 6:9-10: "Or, do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolators, nor adulterers, nor efeminate, nor homosexuals, nor theives, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God." If you want more, read 1 Tim. 1:9-10. Homosexuality is, therefore, regarded as a sin before God.

However, repentance of sin and faith in Christ as Lord and Saviour is the only way to have forgiveness in the eyes of God. In fact, it is the only way to Salvation. So, despite the sin, The love of God through Jesus has made a way to be forgiven. Once a believer, homosexuality has no place in a Christian life.

Jesus Christ is quoted as saying: "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone". I'm not a theologian even though I'm acquainted with the teachings of various religions.
No writing that I know of dealing with the fundamental beliefs of adherents to Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, The Old Testament and Judaism specifically forbid homosexuality. Even The Ten Commandments have no reference to such a "Sin". Nor do any authors of The New Testament specify homosexuality as a "Sin".
"Sins" are often manufactured taboos used by people and organizations to establish a particular behavior as being sinful.
I believe a loving God has left many things for humans to decide and He/She seems more concerned with how we treat one another rather than enumerate what we think may be "Sins".

This probably won't be what you would like to hear, but you asked the question, right?

Though I have many gay and bisexual friends who I love, though I believe that we live in a modernized era were everyone should have freedom in their style of living, and though I am an individual who NEVER judges others..........yes, according to God and according to the Bible, homosexuality is sinful behaviour. You do know where the word Sodomy comes from, right?

Personally, I believe those people you may have been watching on Tyra were a bit ridiculous and out of place. But there are still zealots in the world. They are also most likely hypocrites. Not everything in the bible can be realistically applied to modernized society, we've got to use common sense in interpreting it. The bible also says that when I woman in on her period, she must be separated from the husband and family for the duration of her cycle; she is to be scorned. The sheets she lays on must be burned, all this. Who are we to pick and choose what we abide to, without being hypocritical?

The reason for which I stand firm in my belief that homosexuality is...blasphemous, per say, is because it is an obtruction in the cycle of reproduction. Of course, I'll hear the argument of adoption, surrogacy, and all of these modernized terms, but forget those. If 100 gay men were the last humans, and put on an island challenged to maintain their species, in less than 100 years man would be extinct, because they simply couldn't do it.

Hi, For all of the gays right here that wish to place phrases in God's mouth, I'd watch out approximately that. He does correctly love every person, and simply to set the list instantly {no pun meant} he hates all sin adding sexual sin of ALL varieties, so do not believe he is singled you out. The Bible does state that he thinks gay sin is an abomination in his sight. The indisputable fact that he despatched Jesus to die for that sin is the affection Scripture speaks of. It is your alternative to difference and switch from that sin. Again that is Scriptural.... love it or now not, that is what Scripture states. It's the equal as a father that has a son that's a inebriated. The Father would possibly love the son deeply, however hates the truth that his son is a drunkard. So you notice you have not been singled out. Sexual sins are nonetheless sin and ought to be handled on a private stage. Thank God he loves us sufficient to care, and set the problem instantly.

I try to let rational thought dictate my actions in this world. Therefore, the bible and its bigoted teachings (different from the "be kind" teachings) have no influence over what I think.

The bible was written by men, even if it was guided by the christian god. Men are corrupt and do things for their own ends sometimes.

With that said, i think that men wrote that into the bible and said jesus/god said it to have more weight behind it. The reason? Well, they probably envisioned that if too many people were gay/lesbian, then human race would eventually become extinct.....as they saw it. So they decided to include that part in there.

Now, I've seen articles on yahoo news by the AFP(if I remember correctly) that were on studies about how gays were gay.

One article I remember said that gay men's brains react the same way a straight female's brain does when presented with a male hormone.....or scent ( I forget the name atm).

This implies that gay people do not choose to be gay but are born gay......whether its a mutation or not. *shrugs* Not a bad mutation if it is....probably just nature's way of population control.

This poses a problem for religious people. Because if they are born gay, then that means their god created them that way and are "made in his image" like the rest of straight people. What would happen then? On one hand, the bible says to "not lie with a man the way you would with a woman", another part says "love thy neighbor"......and then we have scientists basically proving that gays do not choose to be gay, but are born that way. That creates a hyporcrisy here....and then people would have to choose.

Well, I'm rambling, so I'm done now. lol

I do believe in a Supreme being, but, I can't be a judge on who is a sinner and who isn't. There are things that people do to one another that any sane person would find abhorrent and can be construed as sin. I suppose those religious "extremists" may perceive some homosexual uninhibited orgy of sinners flailing about in orgasm after orgasm (like in a Fellini movie) and not the sensitive portrayal of two lonely souls heading for a life of loneliness like in "Broke back Mountain". I think once your anger passes that you will find that your sanity is still in tact and be glad that there are enough of us/others that think and feel the same as you. So keep thinking and feeling the way you do and vote. It is better to educate ourselves so that future generations will have the same freedoms we have.

We should not judge people (Matthew 7:1-2), but to answer your question the sexually immoral will not go to Heaven. And according to the Bible, homosexuality is immoral (Romans 1:24-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
Revelation 21:8
8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars-their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." (NIV)

The Almighty considers the act a abomination, but he loves the person. look at the old testement, genisis states that the price of a man lying with a man, is death. I get into some very intellectual debates about biblical writings (i an a baptised christian)...we are all sinners, but we are forgiven by grace. i would say pray and do no harm to others. read the diserata. stay well and peace be with you. the ten commandments are a pretty god set of guides to live by.

People verify that they are imperfect by thier ignorance. Yes, Gay people are sinners, and I am a sinner. Straight people are sinners. We can all claim ignorance if we want to look at ourselves properly.

God knows that we are all basically evil-- according to His viewpoint. That being said; He provided grace for us, all we have to do is believe in His Son, Jesus Christ and trust Him to say what it is that He will do.

If we do not look at ourselves as being an abomination to God without Jesus, then we are not really getting the point.

Those people who went ballistic, I my opinion they do not think that they are sick, and need a physician:

Matthew 9:11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and 'sinners'?"

12 On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.'For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

I believe that the Bible as it's currently interpreted condemns homosexuality, but I also believe that the phrasing is somewhat ambiguous and that the people of the time didn't really think of "gay" or "straight" the way that we do.

Of course, I also think that Christianity is only one of many ways to come close to God/dess and that running your life according to a 2000 year old book is not the best idea in the world.

The family in question wouldn't happen to be named Phelps, would they? Because those guys are absolute psychos and no one with any sense is anything other than disgusted by them. I mean, these are the folks who picket the funerals of soldiers who died in Iraq and accuse them of supporting gays and witches, regardless of the sexual orientation or religious beliefs of the soldiers in question.
