Regardless of the poster in here who are Anti-Christ, there are things that you can do.
We serve a risen and living Jesus Christ.
Those who don't know Him are still offering you worldly ways or their perception of what they think Christianity is about.
1. The Holy Spirit is speaking to you in having compassion for the victims and the survivors. Pray for guidance for these students and faculty. Pray that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit will be a witness thru others and even yourself praying for them now.
2. God can take even the most tragic events and turn it into the most awesome things. Ask God to do that.
3. Don't limit yourself to just words but spur yourself into whatever action that God gives you to do. That by His power working in you that He can achieve His will on earth even in this.
True Comfort only comes from the TRUE COMFORTER. Pray as I will also that they will receive it.
Take Care.

2Cr 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
It does help if they know where their loved one is. They are with GOD.
Ecc 12:1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
there's no pleasure in getting old
Ecc 12:2 While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:
As a young person, we can see GOD's beatuiful creation
Ecc 12:3 In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,
House is your flesh body, it gets old
grinders are the teeth, they are few in old age
windows are darkened, meaning old can't see well anymore
Ecc 12:4 And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;
No longer can a old person hear the musick anymore, hearing loss.
Ecc 12:5 Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
afraid of highs, and desire fails
long home is your etenial home meaning you die a flesh death.
Ecc 12:6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
golden bowl, your head is broken
pitcher at the fountain, your heart stops
wheel broken as in stroke
Ecc 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
The dust is your flesh body returns to earth, dust.
Your " Spirit " returns instantly to GOD who gave it.

This is a tough time for the families of lost ones and no one always knows the right things to say.
There is comfort in knowing God's promise and I pray that the lost ones were saved and are going to a better place.
That would be comfort for me.

Yes, there is comfort without using Christian ideology. Buddhists, Jews, and Muslims all have their own belief systems that give them the same amount of security and comfort Christianity does you. And, they each believe in life after death in some form. It's not just Christianity that promises that we'll see our loved ones again.

At an intensely emotional time like that, I would be deeply offended if somebody started talking about Jesus, or God.
I'm not a Christian.
When I attend Christian funerals, I offer my condolences, no mention of my own faith, because I think introducing my faith into it would be disrespectful.
That's just how I do things. It doesn't hurt to have another insight.

I was just thinking about this yesterday. How I long to be hugged and made to feel loved and cared for. I feel alone on this big planet. Yes a hug could(Help )bring comfort to a hurting soul.

What comfort can a Muslim or Buddhist bring with no hope of redemption. Through Christ there is hope of Resurrection and Reunion.

This is why asking and answering questions online is so popular. We always want to say something. When someone is grieving, (and I speak from experience, having lost my mother at 15), they are stunned and are just trying to make it to the next moment. Do you think they want to hear that "they're at peace now," or that "God just wanted another angel in His choir"? (gag) Just shut up and be there for them if they need you. Sometimes presence and silence speak more loudly than words.

Words are sometimes just words especially when the pain is so great and beyond repair. That's when actions take over a hug and helping hand day to day as the pain subsides.
