The false doctrine of the Trinity originated with the Council of Nice around 300 A.D.

There was a lot of argument about the body of God and what He is like. By a non-unanimous vote, this incomprehensible image of God became the accepted norm.

This is what the Bible says:

Acts 7:55-57 Stephen saw Jesus Christ and His father standing next to each other just BEFORE the mob took him out of the city to kill him. (This was not a dying vision.)

Matthew 3:13-17 Jesus' baptism. After He was baptized, the Holy Ghost descended in the form of a dove. His Father spoke from heaven, and called Jesus "My Beloved Son"(not, "This is Me"). All three members of the Godhead were there, distinctly different from each other, and not the same being.

In John chapter 17, Jesus prayed to His Father, He talked about His Father as another person who gave Him commandments. He also commanded us to pray to the Father in Jesus' name. He always said that He did His Father's will, not His own.

In John 17:21 He explained what being one with God means: being one in love, one in purpose, one in action. He also said that we are to be one with Him. This does not mean that we become Him, but that we try to become like Him.

There is No Trinity
as brief as I can:

A Trinitarion concept contends that the Father, Son and Holy Ghost are one in holiness, love, glory, wisdom and eternal power; but, three in Person. No Scripture can be found to support such a concept.

There is ONE GOD and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and IN YOU ALL. Eph. 4:6. There is only ONE GOD manifested in the flesh and received in the hearts of believers today.

The angel announced, "For unto you is born this day.. .0 Saviour, which is CHRIST THE LORD." Luke 2:11. Throughout the Old Testament God is also called the Lord. Compare the following:

The Lord God is the Creator. Is. 42:5.

The Lord Jesus is the Creator. John 1:3, 10.

The Lord God said, "I am He." Is. 43:10.

The Lord Jesus said, "I am He." John 8:24.

The Lord God is the only Saviour. Is. 43:10, 11.

The Lord Jesus is the Saviour. Titus 1:4.

The Lord God shall reign forever. P5. 146:10.

The Lord Jesus reign forever. Luke 1 :33.

The Lord God is the King of Israel. Is. 43:15.

The Lord Jesus is the King of Israel. Matt. 27:37.

The Lord God is the First and the Lost. Is. 44:6.

The Lord Jesus is the First and the Last. Rev. 1:8.

The Lord God is Almighty. Gen. 17:1.

The Lord Jesus is Almighty. Rev. 1:8.

There is only one Lord. Eph. 4:5. When Paul was struck down on the road to Damascus, he cried, "Who art thou, Lord?" And the Lord said, "I AM JESUS." Acts 9:5. Beyond a shadow of a doubt the Lord God Jehovah of the Old Testament is the Lord Jesus Christ of the New Testament!

The question may be asked, "Is Jesus in the Godhead, or is the Godhead in Jesus?" If the Godhead is in Jesus, there can only be one Person. The Bible clearly states, "For IN HIM (Christ) DWELLETH all the FULLNESS OF THE GODHEAD BODILY. And ye are COMPLETE IN HIM, which is the HEAD OF ALL PRINCIPALITY AND POWER." Col. 2:9, 10. So there is only ONE PERSON in which the Godhead is manifested, because the GODHEAD IS IN JESUS!

God, the eternal Spirit, is "Omni-present" - everywhere at the same time. There is only ONE SPIRIT. Eph. 4:4. "For by ONE SPIRIT are we all baptized into one body..." 1 Cor. 12:13. The Bible proves that the ONE Spirit is the Holy Ghost. "This spake He (Jesus) of the SPIRIT, which they that believe on Him should receive: far the HOLY GHOST was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified." John 7:39.

Yes, the term trinity is no where in the Bible, but you cannot say "Not even support for the idea" is in the Bible.
Read the New Testament again, especially the gospel of John.
There is support for the idea through out the whole N.T.
There are too many references to list.
How about the baptizing of Christ for one. The Father spoke from heaven, the Spirit of God rested on Christ as a dove. Christ said I and the Father are one. I could go on for a while.

Hello everybody!

There is alot of confussion about trinity, the good thing is: we all believe in the Holy Bible, right?
Doesn't exist in the whole bible about "trinity" ( the word) even alot of the answers talk about three differents personages. The Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit but in the same way talk about three in one.
o.k this is just my 2 cents.
Acts. 7: 55-56
Stephen was preaching the gospel.
55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus estanding on the right hand of God,
56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

I hope this will answer your question, or put in clear their beliefs. I think is really clear unless somebody will think that stephen was drunk or in drugs. Anyways if you believe in the Bible and think is the word of the Lord you'll know there is not Trinity.

I respect your believes, peace brothers!

You are seriously mistaken. The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus is God (cf. John 8:58, 10:38, 14:10; Col. 2:9). It also clearly teaches that the Holy Spirit is God (cf. Acts 5:3–4, 28:25–28; 1 Cor. 2:10–13). Everyone agrees the Father is God. Yet there is only one God (Mark 12:29, 1 Cor. 8:4–6, Jas. 2:19).

Jesus tells his apostles to baptize "in the name [notice, singular, not plural] of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matt. 28:19). This is a proof-text: three distinct Persons united in the one divine name. In 2 Corinthians 13:14, Paul writes, "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all." We see this same unity of divine Persons in 1 Corinthians 12:4–11, Ephesians 4:4–6, and 1 Peter 1:2–3.

I cannot find direct, literal evidence of a trinity in the Bible as dictated by the Nicene Creed. I do, however, find ample and numerous the evidence that there is a "Godhead," or three personages that make up this Godhead. That is, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
Every reference I know of speaks of these three as three distinct personages.

If you believe that the only source of Christian teachings is the Bible (as it currently exists) then I can see one saying that the doctrine of the trinity is a false doctrine.

To me, it is one way that humanity is trying to understand the nature of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. For a faith to be alive, it has to be re-examined to try to understand it in a current context. That doesn't mean you throw away the "bottom line" but it does mean you try to put that into ideas that make sense to you. (And "making sense" doesn't always mean logic.) So that doesn't make it false, but it doesn't make it the ultimate, pure truth either.

(When did the doctrine originate? oh heck, without looking it up, early on. I want to say somewhere around the 4th century.)

The Christians know very well that the essence of Christianity, Trinity, is not there in the Bible. They will only show you disparate verses, that, when read together, with great difficulty, suggests "trinity". There are umpteen versions of Bible in the world. None has the word "trinity" in it.

It was invented by people who wanted to distract people from the teachings of Prophet Jesus (pbuh).

free2bfearless:

I have no idea where it originated, but it is false. I don't know where it originated, but all the scriptures quoted support Godhead. You are completely correct. I'll probably get a boatload of thumbs-down on this answer, but here's the deal:

The Godhead is the truth. 3 beings, who all work together for our benefit, provided we live righteously and are able to keep their constant guidance.

Well, I don't see anything for you to pick a best answer from, so I'll help you out by giving you what you want to hear:

You're right. The "trinity" is a false doctrine created in the Middle Ages by misogynists who wanted only to subjugate women and kill non-believers.

That work for you?
