Mesrob Mashtoc is father of Armenian Alphabet, a true pioneer who traveled a lot and then he did the great job in the history of our language.
But where did you think he found and organized and everything else he did. He found our lost Alphabet....
This is a grate website, I have seen it before, but it was a pleasure to go trough it again, I recommend to all Armenian youth to read this carefully... and don't forget what Mary said up there..
The original homeland of ALPHABET was ARMENIA and the initiators her ancient ARMENID inhabitants. And to substantiate this revolutionary claim and support the conclusions, authoritative historical, linguistic, traditional, archaeological, and anthropological evidences are presented.
Amen

im armenian - my family lived in Sivas before the genocide. i have heard many disgusting stories from the period. Turks are barbaric ppl, they are subhumans. They have killed not only armenians but every nation they have conquered voltaire once said: "We know no city built by them, they let decay the most beautiful establishments of Antiquity, they reign over ruins. also, former british prime minister david lloyd george once said: "The turks are a human cancer, a creeping agony in the flesh of the lands they misgovern Im not very surprised that they dont recognize the genocide. They have been like that for all of history, and until the U.S. looks past its military ties with Turkey and faces the truth, Turkey will not budge an inch.. Even if they do recognize it, it will just be for international relations sake, turks inside turkey will still probably not be able to talk about it.

Tradition says that the Armenian alphabet was invented by Bishop (Saint) Mesrop around the year 405 A.D. Regardless of how much truth is in this story it is definitely known that the Armenian alphabet derives from the Greek alphabet. However, it derived from the Greek alphabet in a very different way than the Roman alphabet which English is written in or the Cyrillic alphabet which Russian is writtten in. Therefore, at first glance, the Armenian alphabet doesn't look like the Greek at all.
A book I highly recommend on the subject is "Sign, Symbol and Script" by Hans Jensen. It can be found in many libraries or one of them can order it for you. Please see web link below.
