Good works should follow your faith, as the Bible says, "Faith without works is dead being alone". When you confess having faith in Christ, the spirit of Christ leads you in all truth and righteousness. You will make mistakes, you may fall, but you will get back up and continue your journey toward heaven.

Oh of course He also requires obedience. Anyone can "say" that they accept Christ as their Saviour! But if they truly did they would want to be obedient too. Obedience is the very best way to show that you believe. By doing what the good Lord says and doing it naturally!!

If you believe in Jesus and know Him , you will Love Him .
Obedience becomes second nature to us as believers and
the Truth is in us . We still all sin and fall flat on are faces .
But we have one who is bigger then any sin to forgive us .
With that we are being sanctified with every breath we take
by the Grace of God and to the end of days when he makes
us Holy to enter into God presents . God Loves you and, wants you to have relationship with Him . So do you pray everyday ?,
you know ,like pick up the phone and talk to your Father and
tell Him all about your day ,good things and ,not so good .
If you really want to know Him ,you must Trust Him , pick up His Word ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Him to you . Don't go looking for what you think your answer should be , just let God do the talking there . Believe Him , He knows whats best for you . If you want to be able to someday walk right up to Him and throw your arms around Him and cry out and feel His Great Love for You , you will then give the life He gave to you
to Jesus .This is the reason why Jesus took away all our sins and died for us , for you . Hes the only one that really Loves You . He made you with His undieing Love . Trust Him , seek Him out and walk in His Spirit , then you will be Saved........

Faith without works is dead, being alone.
Endure to the end, finish the race.
If any man will do my will, he will know of the doctrine whether it be of God or whether I speak of myself.
Not every man that sayeth Lord, Lord, will enter into my kingdom.
There are many passages that make it perfectly clear that we must learn His word, obey His word, repent of our sins, be baptized according to His commandments, receive the Holy Ghost by those who have the authority to administer the same, and endure faithfully to the end in good works in order to be welcomed into His Kingdom.
We cannot just say we believe. Unless we show our faith by lives of service to others and to Him, we will be found unworthy.
The laborers received His blessing. The ones that magnified their talents were rewarded, not the slacker.

Believing Christ means obeying His doctrine.

James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

James 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

James 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Believing in Christ is the beginning of obedience. The doctrine of obedience to God is covered in many places in the scriptures, but the gist of the whole doctrine is as follows.

As we get closer to Christ, and develop our relationship to Him, we don't just blindly follow Him, but we willingly surrender ourselves to His will for us. Jesus is the ultimate people manager, in that as we discover our giftings and abilities that we are born with He causes us to use them to accomplish His will on earth. There are times when we just don't give in though. (just like when we don't keep a promise to our loved ones as we say we will) The Holy Spirit is there to convict (gently remind us) of the problem offer an avenue to ask forgiveness, and then helps us to change the behavior.

Our obedience to God is tied up in our faith and love for God, which He sparks in us, some of us respond ... some don't The ultimate act of disobedience is to deny the free gift of eternal life God give us through His Son.

Think on this the Pharisees sacrificed 2 times a week to fast, but they did it in a disobedient fashion. They would eat a large meal the night before, sleep, then go about the day bemoaning their plight, "Oh look at me", "I'm so pious, I'm so spiritual", "See how I'm denying myself by fasting" ect, ect...They walked around looking and promoting the fast they were on until sunset (the end of the day) then they would stuff them selves with food and feel proud. Not seeing their own deceit they were dead in their sins already.

In closing, (sorry for the novella) the truth of your life with Christ is this (very thrilling truth indeed), you are already spending eternity with Him from the moment you accepted Him. GLORY!!! You have the rest of your physical life to learn of Him.

"trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don't rely on your own understanding. Recognize Him in everything about you life and all that is around you and He will take you where you should go." Prov 3: 5-6 my paraphrase.

"the greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength" In the Gospel of Mark Jesus pretty much established the rule of thumb for our relationship with God. The trichotomy of man heart, mind, and soul the three intangibles of being that direct the strength (body or physical form). I find it not a coincidence that there is a trichotomy of man and a triune God. Heart (emotion-Love- God the Father). Mind (intellect, logic, words, Jesus the Word of God that became flesh). Soul (spirit the place where Gods Holy Spirit His Shakina Glory can abide).

See it's a lifetime of learning... and I just scratched the surface.
Glory to Christ

i think of that once you have faith consisting of the whole heart, suggestions and soul which you're a sinner in choose of a savior and you have faith that Jesus is the Son of God who left the honor of heaven to be born, go through and die to your sins and that He rose on the third day in victory over loss of lifestyles, and you ask Jesus into your heart to be your individual savior, then you definately are saved and whether you have doubts or maybe backslide many situations like David did, you will continually be saved.

Acknowledge you are sinner, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and Confess Him with your mouth and you shall be saved. You will continue to sin but you will be saved by grace because Jesus loves you so much. If you are truly saved, the obedience will come naturally.
