No for the most part your computer has built in programs, sort of like animal instincts. Sometimes worms, viruses, spam, pop-up etc. infect your computer and causes the programs to go awry, just like disease does in animals. Interesting enough you are analogous to God on your computer (or Bill Gates is) and the hackers (devil), etc. are trying to ruin your virtual world.

dude I read your question and laughed out loud, excellent

computers don't have free will yet, but they will some day. the day when a machine or another species of animal is able to communicate at our level will be fantastic. I can't wait to see how a Christian tries to explain to a sentient machine or animal that it doesn't have a soul, and will never meet this jesus fellow in a magical kingdom after it dies. (or gets recycled)

Oo What? A computer doesnt choose in the slightest what it does, it is all programmed in. It may be that you are using it incorrectly or it may simply have a virus or a malfunction. If it really is acting on its own, it is a hacker taking remote control of your computer.

No.

However, Trapper Keepers do have free will (especially when paired with Rosie O'Donnell), as does Chef's big screen TV.

LOL nice analogy.

I think that to be capable of free will is to be capable of autonomous thought. Glitches don't quite make the cut. But I appreciate your sense of humour. =D

No, in the same way none of us do. Our brains are computers made of meat.

Ah, it may not do what you want it to but it always does what you ask it to. Incomplete understanding is the result of user-friendliness.
