I would post a question on this board and ask the Wiccans on Yahoo answers. In fact, I have asked several questions about Wicca on YA.
The reason why is because I don't know any Wiccans in real life.

It depends on the question.
If it was about Gardnerian Wicca, my friend the Gardnerian.
If it was something from my own trad, and I didn't know after over 20 years, I'd probably ask one of my students, since that would at least let me think I'm getting forgetful in my old age, not just missing things for that long.

*smile* Well, for me it's very easy - I'm married to a Wiccan (Black Dragon here on R&S). Of course, there *are* some oath-bound things he cannot tell me.
And there are wonderful, patient and knowledgeable people here, too.
There's also a number of knowledgeable Witches here, of types other than Wiccan.

Sure. I ask questions about other people's religions all of the time to my friends and acquaintances. Other people's beliefs interest me and how they came to acquire them.
I do not think that there is any "harm" to be gained from understanding others better.
