I have a question for anyone out there.. Now please understand me, i'm not trying to be rude at all, but I honestly don't understand why people make such rude comments on here about religion, whether it be Christianity, Judaism, Islam, whatever.. I understand that some who do not have a strong religious background might feel that they are persecuted daily by these groups of people.. and honestly, myself being Christian- I understand that there are ignorant people that do that. But is it really neccessary to stoop down to their level and insult everyone??? Just a thought.. Thanks for you answers in advance!

Let me further explain what I mean.. I guess I worded my question wrong! I also very much agree that there are ignorant Christians who think THEY are only right and do make stupid comments to people of different backgrounds and faiths- I just really don't understand why ANYONE would take the time to create so much hatred and animosity when it really solves nothing.. Sorry about the confusion!

to-otally agree....everybody over here has the 'he started it' attitude(eg.the first answer)..come on, guys, can't you be a bit more mature and forgive each other?..but no, to them insulting them back is easier.but that makes us just as bad as they are or if possible, even worse..i believe that most of the users in this section are 21+in age, but when it comes to attitude and behaviour, some of them are worse than 7 year olds..And thank you for asking this wonderful question..i was just getting tired of the trolls and the bashings..Have a nice day!!

Given the preponderance of atheists here and the rude things *we get*, why are you making it sound different?

Just a *few* examples from religious people:
*Mister Poopy: f*ck you you damn atheist
*Kiksshouldgotohell: FU*K ATHEISTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 14/88 KKK rulz! Praise Jesus!
*Kool God: Anyone without a religion is a garbage.
*Sarge: Is that an outward projection of your own fear and self hatred?
*Truth Sayer: First of all, you hate mongering fool; you are a bunch of fools bathing in your own filth; you are still miserable
*RB: If the atheists were in charge, then Christians wouldn't be free
*WD-40: atheists are dumb
*Asianboy: I think that you are a big piece of motherf*cking sh!t
*Keybowvio: wow, i feel sorry for you

[Edit]: Re Add. Dtls. I agree with you, but I wonder, as I've seen this, if you consider it rude when I simply state my thruths (e.g. there are *no* Gods and *no* supernatural at all (?))

If you had been colour blind and a Christian confirmed you a snapshot of 3 one of a kind colours crimson blue and inexperienced. But you most effective noticed 2 colours one crimson and 2 blue if the Christian insisted that there have been 3 colours could then you definately quit the dialog and write her off as an fool? Have you viewed the probability that you're spiritually blind? a while while you're by myself ask God to open your religious eyes so you'll feel his presence. But ensure you're inclined to comply with him while you do. Christian children rebell towards their mom and dad always and deny God. Athiest children uncover God inspite in their mom and dad. William J. Murray is an instance..... William J. Murray is the chairman of the Religious Freedom Coalition, a non-benefit group in Washington, D.C., lively on disorders concerning assisting Christians in Islamic and Communist countries. William is the son of Madalyn Murray O'Hair,[1] an United States atheist activist who got here to country wide awareness in Baltimore, Maryland while she filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Court of the United States, pronouncing that obligatory prayer and studying of the Bible in faculties used to be unconstitutional. Murray modified to Christianity in 1980. His mom reportedly mentioned, upon finding out of his conversion, "One might name this a postnatal abortion at the facet of a mom, I wager; I repudiate him absolutely and wholly for now and all occasions...he's past human forgiveness. Are you trying to say religious people don't make rude comments toward people of other faiths? Or toward atheists? I guess you haven't been here very long. The worst comments are from Christians directed at Catholics, Jews, Muslims, etc.

Lets see if I can explain some of your problem.
Religion is a tough subject to discuss without it getting heated.
There are people who just want to vent.
There are those who, no matter what the question is, are just seeking their 2 points. Doesn't matter the subject.
There are those of us who are teachers, and finding people who are considered Jesus sheep is our main goal.
Unfortunately there are many who just hate others, possibly an illness.
Some like to type and hide behind a keyboard while they turn their minds loose on the public.
Opinion seems to be the key, everyone has one...........
Good fortune to you..........

I've never understood it either. I only hope that we can just get along without the insults. I understand that not all Christians are fundamentalists who blow up abortion clinics and kill doctors who perform abortions; they are only a VERY small portion of Christianity. I just want other people to understand that not all Muslims are fundamentalists who are hell-bent on converting the entire world to Islam and are willing to commit suicide bombings and kill those who don't become Muslims.

In my opinion fighting over religion is just retarded and usually done by the simple minded. Fighting over religion is like trying to argue that your imaginary friend is better then someone elses.

I'm generally neutral towards religion but I see no need to tolerate extremists whether they be Christians or Muslims and I treat them with contempt.

People just think it's funny, and since it's an anonymous forum where the harshest punishment is account deletion (and you can just make another one), there's just really no reason not to.

Reminds me of when my kids were young and would get into silly arguments that would quickly heat up and get physical.
One of my favorite "exuses":
"I didn't start it, he did! He hit me first, right after I hit him back!"
Of course, the child who said this was about six years old.
