I'm glad to hear your son is enthusiastic. The best way to learn the form is for you to take lessons as well. Correct performance of the forms requires that the basic stances, blocks and strikes be performed correctly and this requires many hours of practice and correction from a teacher. That being said, the poomsae have been standardized and are available at the Kukkiwon website:

If your son's school is an ITF school rather than WTF school a different set of forms will be required. Be aware that many instructors modify the forms slightly based on the original kwons or schools in the lineage. The videos may therefore not reflect what your son's instructor is teaching.

speak with his instructor-there will be dvd's on both the wtf style of patterns (poomsae) and itf styles (palgwe). books can also be obtained. in our own dojang we have printed sheets explaining the positions of movements that can be handed to students in respect of the pattern they require for their next grading test (simsa). see if the dojang you son is a member of has the same thing-we find it helps our students a great degree. alternatively you could join yourself-as oj says you might be suprised at how much you enjoy it. as a beginner may i wish your son good luck on what will will the most rewarding journey of his life.

there are DVD's that show all the poomse forms. I know that Tekno in Renton has such a DVD (because I own one). I find mine extremely useful. Hope that helps.

Yeah, you need to take the class with him. At 6, i don't see why you'd leave him alone with an instructor personally.
