I would take off the rest of the day, walk around town drinking in the beauty of the world and smiling at everyone I met, have lunch with my mother and share some of our best memories, call all my family members who live out of town and do the same, check my will one last time to make sure my wishes are clearly spelled out, play with my grandchildren and give them some of my most treasured books to help them remember me by, and sit in the swing near my garden at home with my wife and read some of my favorite poetry aloud to her. Finally, I'd invite all my friends over for a barbecue and laugh a lot. It would be a celebration. No sullenness.

Drink life to the lees.

Fortunately/Unfortunately (?), I've never felt psychic so I have no idea what I'd do if I felt certain when my last day was-I imagine I'd try to sneak a free ride on a plane to England and visit a few places I want to see-Stonehenge, Madame Tousad's Wax Museum and go through a garden labyrinth. Ride a ferry to Dublin, have a pint in a pub-if I had time, I'd try to sueeze in a train ride to Scotland from England.

Gather my family around me and let them know how much I love them and how blessed I feel that God allowed me to be a part of their lives. I would tell God that I am sorry for all the sinful things that I have done and that I am thankful for the days he has given me and I am looking forward to spending eternity with Him.

Clock out immediately, write a "goodbye" blog entry, call everyone on my speed dial except the pizza guy, make love to my wife, give all the cats a treat and a snuggle, surf, and make love to my wife again.

Otherwise, I wouldn't do a lot differently. My family knows I'm crazy about em. I'd probably write down funeral instructions to make that less painful for them.
