A true Martyr does not kill but gives his life willingly for a Godly cause. Since Islam is an ungodly religion, this leaves all Muslims out of the martyr category.

A martyr is usually the one being killed, not doing the killing. And yes, I believe God can handle his own as it were. It sure seemed that way in the old Testament anyway.

It is written in the Koran that not to think it strange that God would have them kill for him. Because if it is Gods will they will be able to kill them. Martyrs actually means persecuted.
Muslim martyrs believe their people are oppressed, like when one draws a cartoon with Mohammad with a bomb in his turban, so then feel oppressed in their religion; So, if asked by an Islamic leader to be a suicide bomber, to do so & their reward is from Allah.
Jesus said that if we follow after Jesus, those who hate Jesus will also persecute His followers. So, they are martyrs also, but they are murdered for their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus never asks us to kill His enemies. Different God than of Mohammad.
The murderer gets rewarded (hell fire) by their god (the destroyer); and people of faith who get murdered because of their faith in Jesus get rewarded greatly (heaven) by their God.

God can't be everywhere at once, he needs helpers. And why single out Muslims, look back early Christian times, see what the Christians have done and it's not planting trees for their God.

Its not an issue about what God "needs". God is free from "needs".
To have this attitude is like stating that if you see someone starving you should not help the individual because "God can handle the stituation without you".

Martyrs kill because they are listenting to someone other than God. Our Lord Jesus Christ does not want people to kill one another. He taught us to love thy neighbor not shoot him! Cho Seung Wui was a deeply troubled and duranged individual. He allowed himself to listen to thoughts that were completely not of God. My heart goes out to eveyone who lost loved ones in this tragedy and I pray for them daily, even Cho's family!!!! God bless.

any martyr, no matter what religion, does what he or she does because they think they will be rewarded by their god for their actions. Period.

Well said. That point goes for anyone who thinks that God needs them to help him with his plans. Whether it be martyrdom or anything else.

Why single out Muslims? There are lots of suicide/murder martyrs out there.
