Generally speaking here are the basics--over 21 years of age, but not older than 42, you have to be living above the financial poverty line and not any any form of government assistance--i.e. welfare, you need to be STD free and at a healthy weight, your child must be currently in your care.
Also, you need to check your state laws and see if you live in a surrogacy friendly state.

If you decide to become a surrogate through and agency the majority say that you need to be 21 yrs. with no state financial help and have at least one child you gave birth to that is under your custody. You can also go independent. You may use the SMO ads to find a couple and or you may put up an ad for yourself.
every agency has different qualifications. And even different independent parents have expectations that vary. Here are the pretty standard ones.

-Have children
-Age between 19-38
-Not be on any type of welfare
-Married or some type of support system
-Healthy
-Children are heathly
-No genetic illnesses
-No felony convictions

Any extras like easy deliveries, healthy babies, no miscarriages, college education, cultural differences, and health insurance can really be an extra for some.

Hi. I've tossed around the idea of becoming a surrogate mother. The easiest thing to do would be to call an adoption agency that also does surrogacy. I put a child up for adoption when I was 19 and then was going to be a surrogate for the people who adopted my son. They decided that they wanted to stop at 3 kids, so it didn't happen.
